**Your Role**
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the local production site by providing specific technical information related to manufactured products, including but not limited to: drawing interpretation, technical specifications; Risk assessment (legal, safety, economic); supporting and developing test configurations and test plans; problem resolution and root cause analysis; validation; and, if required, leading implementation of product engineering changes, new products, and components.

**What You’ll Do**
* Provide guidance to operations on customer and technical specifications related to products.
* Related to product design root causes.
* Maintain ongoing interaction with the local EDP/technical center team regarding key product issues until closure.
* Field and warranty support: perform analysis on customer warranties/returns and communicate feedback to the local EDP team or Technical Center.
* Generate and regularly report (typically monthly) local product engineering metrics measuring:
* Root cause analysis
* Open-door problem-solving sessions
* Support engineering changes, feasibility analysis, and impact on production
* Support/facilitate/lead Product Value Engineering workshops, such as idea generation for cost reduction and scrap reduction. Share information with other sites.
* Support design meetings and workshops. Provide feedback on the production site during product development phases (e.g., site input as "production-type" and design for manufacturability)
* Deliver basic and advanced product training to all employees at the local site.
* Core local production site primary engineering changes. Collaborate with PDE and PjM to develop an appropriate implementation strategy.
* Maintain an up-to-date list of product-specific requirements by technology or customer.
**Who You Are**
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, industrial, electrical engineering, or a related field
* Computer skills: basic software (Office). Minitab or similar is preferred
* Problem-solving skills, such as DOE, 8D, Red X, etc.
* Ability to conduct in-depth, detailed analysis of mechanical and electrical components
* Strong technical skills and understanding of technical specifications (technical and test requirements)
* Knowledge of CAD and drawings, including SPC and GD\&T
* Proven ability to deliver clear (written) technical reports for customers and suppliers
**What Would Give You an Edge**
* Experience in connector or automotive product design
* Experience in manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, stamping, plating, and assembly
* Familiarity with automotive product development and validation requirements
* Fundamentals of GD\&T and stack-up analysis
* DFMEA and basic design risk assessment
