Description and details of responsibilities
Self-driven multi-tasker who monitors and controls inbound and outbound freight, ensuring the plant optimizes trailer space; carrier billing is accurate; and analyzes freight reports to identify optimal shipping methods and practices.
* Coordinate weekly freight forwarder calls to monitor all inbound ocean and air freight
* Review, challenge, and approve carrier invoices. Maintain the inbound report updated daily using data from the
* freight forwarder
* Experience with carrier routing guides and collaborating with carriers and suppliers to ensure compliance
* Experience in international air cargo, including quoting, shipping, and monitoring
* Experience handling carrier damage claims and maintaining claim reports for follow-up and cost visibility
* Retrieve performance reports from websites
* Proactively communicate shipment status to internal customers
* Resolve issues promptly (e.g., mis-shipments, claims, etc.)
* Maintain Key Performance Indicators reports (Freight-In and Freight-Out reports)
* Ensure all issues are addressed and investigated, such as loss in transit, failed deliveries, and order reroutes
* Verify accuracy of bill of lading information
* Coordinate and support International Overseas FCL & LCL Exports
* Support International Overseas Parcel shipping and label creation, BSO, and support to shipping stations
* Support all logistical needs for the Hunter Douglas North America division
Experience and Requirements
* BACHELOR’S DEGREE: International Trade and Customs, Business Administration, or related field
* ENGLISH LEVEL: 90%
* SKILLS: SAP (preferred), MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), experience
* managing parcel, LTL, FTL, ocean, and air cargo
