Mechanical Design Engineer * Responsible for the mechanical design of package upgrades and retrofits. * Collaborate with various engineering, fabrication, assembly operations, logistics, and field installation personnel to ensure that project designs are high quality, safe, and cost\-effective. · Independently gathering and analyzing relevant data and defining project issues in engineering terms with minimal technical direction. · Facilitation of design reviews with peers and team members are also expected. Minimum Qualifications: · Currently in the process of receiving or have already received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant degree * 1\-3 years of relevant experience * Previous related work experience Preferred Qualifications: · Experience with turbomachinery products (gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, generators/alternators, etc.) · Experience with 3D CAD programs for mechanical design (PTC Creo or Dassault Systems SolidWorks) · Experience with 2D CAD programs for electrical design (Bentley System Promis\-e, AutoCAD, etc.) · Experience with PLC (programmable logic controller) software · Ability to write and communicate ideas clearly · Ability to work well with others, team spirit, and flexibility with personal schedule to meet deadlines · A sense of urgency and organizational skills are also required to work with multiple projects and competing priorities. **Posting Dates:** April 22, 2026 \- May 3, 2026 Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
