Team management and editorial line assurance **OPEN POSITION: NEWS DIRECTOR** A prominent telecommunications company seeks a **Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field**, to lead the news strategy and daily newscast production, ensuring content meets standards of quality, accuracy, and television timing. Location: Tampico, Tamaulipas. Vacancies: 1 Age: 22 to 40 years **RESPONSIBILITIES:** **A. Editorial and Desk Coordination:** **● Agenda Assignment:** Lead the daily editorial meeting to assign coverage assignments to reporters, as well as coordinate and monitor activities with COPER Agency. **● Text Editing:** Review, correct, and apply "style" to reporters' stories before they proceed to voice-over or editing. **● News Monitoring:** Stay updated on news agencies, social media, and local media to identify breaking news or last-minute stories. **B. Script Production (Minute-by-Minute):** ● Determine the order of news items (news blocks). ● Establish the duration of each segment to ensure program punctuality. ● Coordinate with technical departments for required visual support (graphics, lower thirds, supporting videos). **C. Team Management:** ● Supervise performance and adherence to deadlines of assigned staff. ● Ensure reporters comply with the channel’s editorial and ethical guidelines. ● Coordinate with the newscast presenter and hosts. **REQUIREMENTS:** **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field. ● **Experience:** Minimum 2\-3 years in journalistic writing or media production (TV preferred). ● **Technical Skills:** Excellent spelling and writing skills; knowledge of narrative structures for TV; basic proficiency in office software and editing software (preferred). **● Soft Skills:** Leadership, decision-making under pressure, strong ethical awareness, and excellent verbal communication.
