Innovation and development of secondary processes for the automotive market Manufacturing Engineer Apply now » **Date:** Mar 9, 2026 **Location:** Monterrey, MX **Company:** OP Mobility Analyze and resolve issues reported by external customers and/or assembly plants using methodologies such as: 8D, Root Cause Analysis Diagram, and provide action plans to demonstrate commitment. Support manufacturing and assembly processes to meet KPIs: OEE, Scrap, BTS, PPM, IPPM, safety, etc. Collaborate on equipment capacity and cycle time analysis to enable rapid and reliable decision-making regarding logistics required for production operations. Actively participate in validation and acceptance of secondary process equipment and tooling based on evaluation of existing equipment specifications, product, and process—resulting in a report summarizing conclusions, open issues list, and contract closure dates. Innovation—research methods and techniques to support development of secondary processes, tools, and equipment considering requirements of the automotive market, customers, and OP Mobility. Provide assistance and actively participate in meetings such as Area Accountability, Engineering Changes, and Projects (Program Manager). Implement Poka-Yoke prevention and/or detection devices. Participate in Engineering Changes related to Assembly Process activities. Define annealing time and temperature according to resin specification to be used. Validate annealing process via chemical testing in laboratory. Define and develop vibration welding, hot plate, infrared staking, and laser welding processes. Control and maintain SPC points within tolerance through process capability CP and CPk. Define and maintain parameters to ensure part hermeticity per customer specification. Define adhesive application weight and dispensing path. Define robot path for lens placement. Define and maintain adhesive system parameters. Define and control mixing ratio of reactive adhesives. Define and maintain adhesive curing temperature and time. Define and maintain welding parameters, assembly sequence at workstations, and number of welding phases to be used. Coordinate refurbishment of welders, EOL testers, leak testers, and assembly stations. Develop and/or revise Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plan per schedule. Develop and/or revise QPS, startup checklists, work instructions, visual aids, and parameter checklists. Conduct periodic BOM reviews per schedule. Provide engineering support for new models in specifying equipment and tooling to prevent production capacity, management, cost, tool durability, process stability, and other customer- and plant-quality-defined characteristics.
