Apply **Job Summary:** The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods within the warehouse. Their role is essential to ensure materials are handled effectively and that the flow of goods remains organized and efficient. **Duties/Responsibilities:** * Receive and verify incoming goods, ensuring they match purchase orders. * Organize and store materials appropriately within the warehouse. * Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy in material selection. * Maintain order and cleanliness in the work area and warehouse according to best practices and the 5S methodology. * Conduct periodic inventory counts and update inventory records. * Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts (if trained). * Report any damage or irregularities in goods or equipment to Operations Management and the Warehouse Manager and/or Leader. * Comply with established safety standards. * Inform Operations Management and the Warehouse Manager and/or Leader about potential improvements or issues in the warehouse. **Required Skills and Competencies:** * Ability to work in a team and collaborate with others. * Organizational and time-management skills. * Attention to detail to prevent errors in inventory handling. * Basic computer skills for inventory management and documentation. * Ability to follow precise instructions and work procedures. * Service-oriented attitude. **Education and Experience:** * Completed secondary education (preferred). * Prior warehouse experience is valued but not always required. * Forklift operator certification is a plus. * Cross-industry experience in pharmaceutical and/or chemical industries involving general consumables and/or hazmat materials (desirable). **Physical Requirements and Work Environment:** * Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 kg. * Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, pushing, pulling, and moving objects. * Good physical condition to perform tasks requiring sustained physical effort. * Work is primarily conducted in a warehouse setting, which may be climate-controlled but can also be noisy and subject to temperature fluctuations depending on infrastructure. * Regular working hours, with possible overtime during peak seasons or to meet critical deadlines. * Frequent interaction with Distribution, Warehouse, and other departments. * Requires standing for extended periods, as well as regular walking and movement throughout the shift. * Manual dexterity to operate machinery such as forklifts or pallet jacks, and to perform packaging and labeling tasks. * Constant use of technology and material handling equipment, including forklifts, warehouse management systems (WMS), and barcode scanners. * Strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries, which may include wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). **Why Join Us?** * Rewarding work and responsibilities. * Ability to exert immediate and continuous influence. * Excellent culture and collaborative team *Formerra is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
