Learn more about our culture here. **Job Description** Analyze raw material procurement requirements for which you are responsible; release purchase orders to suppliers based on contractual terms and conditions; and support sourcing in recommending new supply sources. Responsible for continuous interaction with suppliers and internal customers to process requirements and ensure timely delivery of products to our Nogales Operations Center and plants requiring them. You will also interact with domestic and international suppliers according to the assigned product category across the entire network, and closely collaborate with demand planning, operations, warehousing, logistics, engineering, customs, finance, quality, supply chain, and corporate project management teams. Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and generate reports on metrics that drive continuous improvement, high fill rates, and an optimized workflow within a dynamic environment. **Specific Job Responsibilities:** * Review component requirements to replenish inventory or meet demand, based on (MRP, PROMOTIONS, NPI, COMPONENT FORECAST). * Expedite and update purchase order information per production schedules. * Ensure required materials arrive on time by tracking purchase orders. * Provide necessary component-related information to planning, manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering departments to support daily demand changes and project needs. * The day-to-day buyer assigned to a part number is responsible for handling supplier or product address changes; it is essential to collect all required information for review by the relevant department(s) to approve or reject the situation. * The buyer assigned under the NPI framework is responsible for reviewing the ECO to request samples or drawings from the supplier and seek support from Quality or Engineering to generate the corresponding FAIR and PPAP. * Review and resolve issues related to purchase order receipts or quality problems. * Forecast component receipts and ensure achievement of committed targets through monthly analysis of placed orders. * Maintain electronic records of all purchases made. * Read and interpret drawings, specifications, blueprints, and designs. * Submit weekly procurement metrics reports for (Past Due PO’s, Matching Hold Report, MRB, Receipt Forecast, Supplier Score Card, 5’s, Potential Shortages). * Evaluate suppliers monthly using the Supplier Score Card tool, published quarterly. * Support Finance, Accounts Payable, Asset Protection (OEA, CTPAT), Customs, and Quality (ISO) during audits. * Participate in presenting metrics during the daily DH meeting. * Release VMI supplier replenishment schedules. * Expedite materials according to requirements using the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods. * Conduct inventory analysis based on DSI; negotiate MOQs with suppliers to reduce aging inventory. * Use available applications such as ASCP, BOOK, AGILE, MPS, ORACLE, NEXUS to perform job duties. * Strengthen and streamline the supply chain using appropriate techniques and tools aligned with LEAN MANUFACTURING philosophy. * Support MRO procurement activities. **Qualifications** **Education:** * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering. **Experience:** * Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibilities in raw material procurement and inventory planning control. **Languages:** * Advanced English proficiency. **Other Competencies:** * Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. * Strong negotiation skills. * Supplier management and development. * Proven experience with any ERP system—Oracle preferred, SAP or JD Edwards acceptable. * Basic knowledge of LEAN MANUFACTURING philosophy. **Additional Information** **At Fortune Brands Innovations, we support the overall health and wellness of our associates by offering comprehensive, competitive benefits that prioritize all aspects of wellbeing and provide flexibility for our teammates’ unique needs.
