Position Summary: The Field Sales Representative leads and manages sales and marketing activities, responsible for maximizing product distribution, sales, and profitability according to objectives. The Field Sales Representative position leads and manages sales and marketing. The Field Sales Representative is responsible for achieving maximum distribution and sales of products, and for maintaining and enhancing profitability in accordance with assigned objectives. This position is responsible for achieving sales and gross profit targets as determined by the company. Responsibilities: * Sell and promote packaging products and value-added services to meet or exceed sales and profit goals within an established territory. * Actively engage in customer visits at all current levels and cold calls to prospective customers at a frequency that positions Veritiv preferentially. * Develop a sufficient pipeline of prospective customers to generate long-term sales growth. * Maintain accurate, detailed knowledge of the potential of each account, and prepare and conduct regular business reviews (CBRs) to fully leverage growth opportunities with the customer. * Provide strong planning capability, working closely with clients at all levels on a weekly basis to review demand forecasts, and coordinating internally to ensure timely deliveries to customers, using project management expertise to execute supply chain complexity with excellence. * Execute organizational strategy, tactics, and processes diligently, contributing to their improvement when necessary. * Collaborate with sales development and support resources to provide customers with proposals and quotations focused on unlocking market and business growth potential. * Align with territory sales specialists to broaden segment knowledge and product expertise, and collaborate on promoting sales solutions to generate growth opportunities with new and existing customers. * Work collaboratively with the national sales team to support sales efforts and account management. * Develop commercial and financial acumen to implement effective packaging sales strategies as directed by sales managers, thereby generating profitability levels that meet or exceed business and segment goals. * Investigate and resolve all customer complaints promptly, and participate in problem resolution involving all relevant parties. * Actively leverage sales technology and tools to achieve strategic account planning objectives and maximize customer and segment growth potential. * Participate in sales training and development programs to reinforce sales competencies and enhance the ability to generate profitable customers and effectively grow the segment. * Provide solid project management experience to assist in executing customers’ complex supply chains. * Coordinate RFPs per company policy. * Plan based on forecasts, VMI, inventory agreements, EDI, plant-based IPS storage, and other requirements. **Qualifications/Knowledge and Experience:** * SAP application/use/competency skills — desired. * Technical/computer/software PC skills — Microsoft Office competency — desired. * Demonstrated discipline in executing company-designed strategy and tactics. * Business/distribution knowledge experience — desired. * Functional experience/sales experience/more than 1 year — required. * More than 1 year of proven successful field sales or account management experience — desired. * Solid understanding or experience within the distribution industry — desired. * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. * Demonstrable project management experience and understanding of distribution finance — preferred. * Ability to work independently, successfully manage accounts, perform under pressure, and adapt to changes in the work environment is essential. * Intermediate English \#Mexico Veritiv is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
