Position Summary: We are seeking an Operations Engineer for the position of Second Rolling Mill, responsible for ensuring the quality and thickness specifications of the final product at our San Luis Potosí, Mexico plant. Problem analysis and resolution At Outokumpu, the world leader in stainless steel, we are seeking an Engineer for the **Second Rolling Mill** position to join our dynamic Operations team at our San Luis Potosí, Mexico plant. **Objective:** As part of the rolling crew, you will be responsible for reducing material thickness to meet customer requirements. ***This position rotates across all three shifts.*** **Objective:** Ensure the final product meets quality and thickness, elasticity, surface finish, and flatness specifications per customer requirements. **Education and Experience:** * \> 2 years of experience in operational production processes. * Completed engineering degree (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechatronics) or related engineering field. * Prior experience using problem-solving methodologies and tools such as Lean Six Sigma or similar. * Demonstrable experience in analyzing and resolving issues during production processes. * Understanding of industrial safety standards. * Capable of lifting 15–40 kg jointly with another person. Available to rotate across all three shifts. **Skills and Competencies:** * Communication and teamwork skills across different departments. * Attention to detail and adherence to specifications. * Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. * Time management and goal orientation toward production targets and continuous performance improvement. **Responsibilities:** * Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures. * Actively participate in manufacturing excellence and reliability initiatives. * Complete reports timely to ensure accurate and timely information.
