The person in this role is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining agreements with freight forwarders for local accounts. Programs will be designed to deliver cost savings and benefits to freight forwarders while generating measurable incremental sales for Air Canada Cargo. This individual maintains direct contact with clients of targeted accounts.
**Responsibilities:**
* Implement territorial strategies and follow directives from the Manager – Freight Sales – Guadalajara to achieve profitable freight sales targets for the Company.
* The incumbent is responsible for freight sales in Guadalajara, Mexico; Monterrey; and Cancun, requiring active on-site presence.
* Actively manage the entire territory’s customer base using the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain an accurate sales pipeline and ensure forecast accuracy.
* Design contractual commitments between Air Canada and regional buyers to influence revenue and maximize income generation for the Company.
* Provide ongoing support for the Company’s contractual agreements, including maintenance, routine administration, and promotion.
* Conduct sales calls to freight forwarders to establish optimal working relationships and review Air Canada Cargo products and services.
* Represent Air Canada Cargo at meetings, industry trade shows, conferences, and corporate events at local and national levels.
* Identify potential threats to existing business and develop strategies to mitigate them.
* Manage all contract-related activities to ensure a consistent and uniform approach.
* Maintain excellent relationships with Air Canada Cargo senior management and local station operations.
* Collaborate with Sales and Capacity Management teams to identify revenue opportunities related to key routes, regions, and accounts.
* Liaise with internal departments to ensure alignment of departmental, divisional, and corporate objectives.
* Establish a commercial relationship between Air Canada and its customers.
* Regularly conduct account performance reviews.
* Achieve revenue growth and market share improvement targets.
* Contribute to building a strong, highly motivated sales team.
* Support bookings and shipment tracking through to final delivery and billing.
* Participate in sales activities via social media platforms such as LinkedIn.
**Qualifications**
* College or university degree is a strong asset.
* Minimum two years’ experience in direct contracting and negotiation within external and internal sales.
* In-depth knowledge of domestic and international air freight forwarders.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong customer service skills.
* In-depth understanding of commercial principles associated with drafting and interpreting contracts (function, structure, and principles).
* Extensive knowledge of current freight operations and industry practices.
* Ability to create innovative sales programs with tangible results.
* Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working under pressure in a dynamic environment.
* Ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of data to support sound financial decision-making.
* Persuasive and negotiation skills.
* Confidence, professional presence, and appearance.
* Frequent travel is required, along with regular client meetings.
* Ability to handle irregular or diversified demands.
* Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
**Terms of Employment:**
Candidates must be eligible to work in the applicable country at the time an offer of employment is extended and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided prior to the start date.
