Forklift Operator

Description

Responsibilities * Inspects, dispatches, and stages orders accurately, meticulously, and efficiently according to company-established standards and procedures. Understands units of measurement. * Inspects merchandise, including checking for missing quantities and rejecting damaged goods. * Communicates missing merchandise quantities through appropriate channels to ensure accurate billing. * Receives, reserves, and restocks merchandise daily as directed by immediate supervisors. Understands the warehouse location system. * Prepares products for shipment, including secure packaging, labeling, and marking. * Uses cord, tape, and shrink-wrap sealing equipment. * Handles inventory carefully and safely; mindful of quality and preventing damage. * Practices and adheres to established safety rules and policies, as well as established maintenance standards. Conducts equipment safety inspections. Immediately reports any violations or hazards to management. * Operates assigned warehouse equipment to perform job functions. * Participates in the annual inventory. Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent and/or related experience. * Preference given to candidates with 1–2 years of prior experience in distribution warehouse environments. * Experience operating material handling equipment in distribution warehouses. * Experience working in an electronic/computerized work environment. \#Mexico Veritiv is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
