This role is part of the transformation toward an **Augmented PMO**, where AI automates tactical and operational tasks, enabling the Project Manager to focus on **strategic decision-making, alignment with sponsors, risk anticipation, and delivery of business benefits**. **Purpose or Mission of the Role** ------------------------------ Orchestrate high-impact strategic projects and programs, translating business objectives into clear and adaptive execution plans, ensuring **value delivery**, **alignment with strategy**, and **data-driven decision-making**, acting as a **strategic business partner**. **We seek individuals who:** -------------------------- * Evolve from traditional project management to a **strategic and influential role**. * Take ownership of business outcomes—not just deliverables. * Use **Artificial Intelligence and analytics** as enablers for more timely and effective decisions. * Possess the maturity to **challenge priorities, initiative continuity, and plans** when they do not generate value. * Lead strategic conversations with **senior stakeholders and executive committees**. * Drive continuous improvement, change management, and adoption of new ways of working from within the PMO. **Responsibilities and Authorities** ------------------------------------ * Orchestrate the execution of **strategic projects and programs** in hybrid environments (Agile \+ Predictive). * Translate business strategic objectives into **structured action plans**, with emphasis on benefits and outcomes. * Ensure delivery of **business benefits**, beyond mere completion of deliverables and deadlines. * Use tools with **AI and analytics** (Copilot, Power BI, Power Automate, Azure DevOps, PPM tools) to: + Anticipate risks, dependencies, and scenarios. + Optimize plans and decisions. + Automate administrative tasks such as status reporting, meeting minutes, and manual reports. * Interpret and communicate insights using **business judgment and executive storytelling**. * Facilitate collaboration among **business, technology, and agile/traditional teams**, proactively resolving friction points. * Lead multidisciplinary teams (direct or matrixed), including **junior Project Managers or external teams**, depending on project complexity. * Act as a **change agent within the PMO**, driving new practices and capabilities. **What This Role Is NOT** ------------------------- * It is not an administrative or manual tracking role. * It is not responsible for producing recurring manual reports. * It is not a tactical or bureaucratic role. * It is not a role focused solely on control and status updates. **Requirements and Qualifications** ------------------------------- ### **Experience:** * Minimum **8 years** of experience managing complex projects and/or programs. * Proven experience interacting with **senior stakeholders (Directors, VPs, C‑Level executives)**. * Experience leading initiatives with **teams of up to 25 people** (direct or matrixed). * Experience managing **significant budgets** (multi-million dollar range). * Proficiency in **hybrid management models (Agile \+ Waterfall)**, with sound judgment to select the appropriate approach. * Experience in the **financial services sector** (insurance experience preferred). ### **Education:** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Systems, or related field. * PMI / PRINCE2 / SAFe / Scrum / RTE certifications (preferred). * Practical experience using **AI tools** in professional contexts. ### **Key Competencies:** * Strategic thinking and value orientation. * Data-driven decision-making. * Data and Artificial Intelligence literacy. * **Structured, clear, and direct executive communication**. * High capacity for **influence and leadership without hierarchical authority**. * Change management and mindset of continuous transformation. **Interpersonal Profile** ------------------------ * Highly **verbal and structured** in communication. * Ability to lead difficult conversations with business stakeholders. * Results-, impact-, and value-oriented. * Not an introverted or passive profile. * Ability to influence and align multiple stakeholders. **Diversity and Inclusion** -------------------------- At MetLife, we are committed to fostering diversity among employees through non-discriminatory treatment based on race, gender expression / identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, nationality, marital status, disabilities, physical or economic condition.
