Work anywhere from Mexico. **Job description** ------------------- **What you'll work on** As a Senior Python Developer, you will design, build, and maintain backend applications for international clients. Depending on the project, you may work on APIs, integrations, cloud\-native platforms, data\-heavy applications, modernization initiatives, AI\-assisted workflows, or distributed backend systems. The work is challenging in the right way: real problems, real users, real architecture decisions, and teammates who care about doing things properly. This role is for someone who enjoys solving real problems, writing clean and maintainable code, and working with people who take engineering seriously without making the environment rigid. You will work with Python, modern backend frameworks, cloud\-native architectures, AI\-assisted workflows, and distributed teams that value ownership, curiosity, and practical delivery. Even when teams work remotely, we make space for connection, learning, and direct technical exchange. **Responsibilities** -------------------- * Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using **Python** and frameworks such as **FastAPI, Django, or Flask**. * Build clean, maintainable, and efficient backend services, **APIs, integrations,** and business logic. * Participate in architecture decisions for scalable, secure, and production\-ready systems. * Write unit and integration tests as part of normal delivery. * Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and production issues. * Implement security, data protection, and reliability practices in backend systems. * Design, implement, and maintain automated builds, deployments, and CI/CD workflows. * Contribute to **DevOps** culture through containerization, deployment automation, observability, and production ownership. * Conduct code reviews and help raise the engineering standard across the team. * Share knowledge about relevant technologies, tools, frameworks, and engineering practices. * Collaborate with distributed teams, clients, and technical stakeholders in an Agile delivery environment. * Use AI\-assisted development tools where they improve quality, speed, documentation, testing, or refactoring. **Requirements** ---------------- **Must have:** * 5\+ years of professional experience as a Python Developer, with strong experience in **Python 3\.x.** * Experience with Python web frameworks such as **FastAPI, Django, or Flask.** * Experience designing and building REST APIs, backend services, integrations, and production\-grade applications. * Solid understanding of modern software architecture, including microservices, event\-driven design, containers, and distributed systems. * Experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes\-based environments. * Strong understanding of engineering best practices, including clean code, SOLID principles, design patterns, testing, Git, and maintainable architecture. * Experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL. * Experience working with automated builds, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows. * Practical experience using AI\-assisted development tools to support code generation, reviews, documentation, testing, refactoring, or problem\-solving. * Experience working in Agile teams, with the ability to deliver results without close supervision. * Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and communication skills. * Ability to work with ownership, autonomy, and technical discipline. * English proficiency at B2 level or higher. * Ability to collaborate well with distributed teams, give and receive feedback constructively, and contribute to a strong engineering culture. **Nice to have:** * Experience with more than one Python web framework. * Experience with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, React, Angular, or Vue. * Understanding of Python threading limitations, multiprocessing, asynchronous processing, and performance tradeoffs. * Strong unit testing, integration testing, and debugging skills. * Experience creating and maintaining containerized applications. * Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. * Understanding of serverless architecture. * Experience with NoSQL, cache, or analytical databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or DuckDB. * Experience with observability, logging, monitoring, and production support. * Experience integrating AI tools into team workflows. * Familiarity with Model Context Protocol, AI tool integrations, or structured AI workflow configuration. * Experience defining AI\-augmented workflows using structured formats such as YAML or XML. **Work model:** * Remote role based in Mexico. * Collaboration with international teams and clients. * English\-speaking technical environment. * Availability for overlap with Mexico, US, and European teams depending on project assignment. * Engagement model may vary depending on operational setup and candidate profile. **Benefits** ------------ **Remote\-First Flexibility** Work from where you feel most productive.
