Job Summary: We are seeking a Mid Manufacturing Engineer to support, standardize, and improve welding and metalworking production processes, combining technical support with on-line production presence. ALTEN Mexico is looking to integrate a **Mid Manufacturing Engineer** into its team, responsible for supporting documentation, standardization, and improvement of production processes focused on welding and metalworking manufacturing. This position combines the technical work of updating work instructions with active presence on production lines to assist in executing defined manufacturing methods. The Mid team plays a key role in ensuring operational continuity, supporting quality improvements, and maintaining the integrity of technical documentation on a day-to-day basis. **Job Objective** Ensure the timely update and correct implementation of work instructions for welding and metal assembly processes, facilitating communication between engineering and operations. This role balances technical support activities — interpretation of drawings and document control — with field validation activities — operational support and identification of improvement opportunities — guaranteeing that production remains aligned with Standard Work standards. **Main Responsibilities** * Support the ongoing development and updating of graphical work instructions for welding and metalworking processes. * Interpret and validate 2D and 3D technical drawings to correctly guide manufacturing personnel. * Participate in process analysis sessions and FMEAs to identify critical operations under senior engineering supervision. * Maintain up-to-date technical process documentation in accordance with established quality controls. * Collaborate on documenting requirements for tools, fixtures, and equipment needed on the line. * Provide continuous operational support to resolve questions regarding assembly and welding sequences. * Monitor correct execution of processes according to current work instructions. * Support the physical implementation of quality improvements, poka-yokes, and clamping devices. * Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and process audit activities to ensure regulatory compliance. * Identify and report technical deviations in assembly to propose immediate adjustments in collaboration with the production team **Requirements** **Academic Background** * Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field. **Experience** * Less than 6 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering. * Knowledge of welding and metalworking manufacturing processes. * Experience supporting and developing graphical work instructions. * Active participation in fast-paced production environments. **Technical Skills** * Intermediate knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Standard Work. * Proficiency with quality tools and support in developing FMEAs. * Interpretation and validation of 2D and 3D technical drawings. * Ability to provide operational support for implementing *fixtures* and *poka-yokes*. * Familiarity with technical documentation processes and change control. * Intermediate English. **Professional Competencies** * Responsive and practical problem-solving ability on the shop floor. * Ability to clearly communicate technical changes to operational staff. * Collaborative work with senior engineers and production teams. * Availability to rotate shifts under a 4x3 schedule (12x12\). **Key Job Objectives** * Keep graphical work instructions updated in accordance with engineering changes. * Ensure operational personnel understand and correctly execute welding and assembly processes. * Minimize production process deviations through continuous on-floor technical support.
