Lead team and coordinate service providers. **POSITION OBJECTIVE:** ============================ **Responsible for supervising import and export operations between manufacturing plants in Mexico and suppliers from various countries; reviews documentation management with different customs agencies and carriers according to company-established procedures to ensure compliance with customs regulations of Mexico and the United States.** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:** ========================== * Daily supervision of import\-export department activities, ensuring adherence to company-established procedures aligned with applicable foreign trade regulations; review work quality and maintain high service levels for internal customers across manufacturing plants in Tijuana and Watkins Wellness in Vista, California. * Continuous communication with internal customers (Purchasing, Engineering, Warehouse, Production, others) to sustain optimal operational flow across manufacturing plants in Tijuana and Watkins in Vista, CA; provide ongoing support to Logistics, Customs Compliance, and Shipping departments. * Ensure proper use of Annex 24 software and ERP systems by import\-export analysts, and keep the team updated with information and training for correct system usage in preparing import and export invoices per IMMEX program requirements and necessary operational inquiries. * Responsible for managing supply chain security certifications — Authorized Economic Operator (OEA) and Customs\-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) — with Mexico’s Tax Administration Service (SAT) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for Tapicerías Pacifico’s manufacturing and transportation facilities, as well as for Watkins Wellness Vista facilities; serves as official representative during authority audits and monitors full compliance. * Coordinate team efforts of personnel under supervision, promote assertive communication, balance workloads, and provide direction on KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), setting departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives. * Conduct periodic evaluations of service providers using scorecards — including Mexican and U.S. customs brokers, transportation providers, and freight consolidators — measuring performance and responsiveness to daily import/export operational requests for plants in Mexico and Watkins Wellness in Vista, CA; coordinate quarterly business review (QBR) meetings to present results. * Responsible for definitive regime imports of materials, equipment, and/or tools, overseeing correct tariff classification, part number registration in Annex 24 system, applicable benefits, RRNA compliance, and follow-up with internal customers for delivery. * Periodically evaluate analyst performance and provide feedback during one-on-one meetings; collaborate with analysts on reviewing annual objectives and guide progress on individual and team projects related to TCP implementation. * Track international shipments — both imports and exports — with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, customs agencies, and other company departments; maintain constant communication with freight forwarders and internal customers to ensure material supply and product delivery to customers. * Work directly with U.S. Logistics teams in selecting and evaluating service providers, and with U.S. Customs Compliance teams to ensure compliance with international treaties and applicable benefits for import and export shipments. * Read and stay current with applicable laws and regulations to ensure import and export operations are conducted within the current legal framework; serve as subject-matter expert on foreign trade, international logistics, customs compliance, and related topics. * Support maintenance of IVA/IEPS and Origin Review (RO) certifications through activities such as collection, review, and archiving of Positive Compliance Opinions issued to authorized carriers for movement of foreign trade goods. ***Note: This is not an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities.
