Job Description and Responsibilities
The Molding Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining injection molding processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high\-quality production. This role focuses on process stability, continuous improvement, scrap reduction, and supporting new product launches while collaborating with cross\-functional teams across manufacturing, maintenance, and quality.
* Develop, document, and maintain robust injection molding processes for new and existing products
* Establish and optimize process parameters (temperature profiles, pressures, cycle times, cooling, etc.)
* Lead troubleshooting efforts using structured problem\-solving and root cause analysis
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE, reduce scrap, and increase productivity
* Support new product launches, including mold trials, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and process capability studies
* Monitor and analyze process performance using data and SPC tools
* Work closely with maintenance to resolve equipment and tooling issues
* Standardize work instructions, setup sheets, and process documentation
* Train technicians and operators on proper process control and best practices
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
* Provide ongoing support and contributions to the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2015 Management Systems.
* Execute and comply with the guidelines defined by the Integrated Management System (related standards, laws, policies, regulations, and instructions) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018\.
Experience and Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics, or related field) or equivalent experience.
* Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
* Experience with Computer\-Aided Design (CAD) software – AutoCAD or SolidWorks
* Experience with decoupled molding and process validation.
* Knowledge of plastic materials, mold design, and processing techniques; automation systems and robotics in molding environments.
* Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
* Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
* Experience in injection molding manufacturing with scientific molding principles (RJG or similar preferred).
* Proven ability in troubleshooting and root cause analysis; experience with ERP/MES systems and data analysis tools; experience with Computer\-Aided Design (CAD) software – AutoCAD or SolidWorks; experience with decoupled molding and process validation.
