**Position Objective:**
To define, govern, and evolve the organization’s strategic tariff classification criteria by assessing fiscal and legal risks, developing and validating internal guidelines, and providing technical representation before authorities and stakeholders — thereby protecting the business, ensuring regulatory compliance, preventing contingencies, and enabling strategic international trade decisions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Define and approve the organization’s strategic framework for internal tariff classification criteria.
* Assess fiscal, legal, and reputational risks associated with tariff classification and establish preventive guidelines.
* Validate and authorize sensitive criteria, strategic rulings, or high-impact classifications for the business.
* Represent the organization technically before authorities, external audits, and critical reviews related to tariff classification.
* Define the strategy for responding to audits, reviews, and disputes arising from tariff classification.
* Ensure alignment of tariff classification criteria with business strategy, customers, and international trade operations.
* Approve and oversee standardization of internal criteria and their correct organizational-wide application.
* Analyze high-impact changes in regulations, tariffs, and other regulatory frameworks and define their strategic direction.
* Define the structure, roles, and capabilities of the Tariff Classification team.
* Drive technical evolution of the area through innovation, digitalization, and process improvement.
* Escalate and advise senior management on tariff-related impacts affecting strategic business decisions.
* Participate in strategic projects related to classification, compliance, and risk prevention.
**Requirements:**
* Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Customs, International Business, Commodity Science, or a related field.
* 8–10 years of experience in tariff classification and regulatory compliance, including experience in audits and risk management.
* Minimum 5 years leading teams.
* Advanced knowledge of TIGIE, HTS, strategic rulings, audits, national and international customs regulations, and compliance strategy.
* Advanced English (C1\).
* Specialized certification in tariff classification or customs compliance is desirable.
* Availability for client visits and occasional travel.
Salary: $12,345\.00 \- $123,456\.00 per day
