Training nurses in mobilization and basic exercises Fundación de Ayuda al Débil Mental A.C. seeks to incorporate a Physical Therapist into its professional, multidisciplinary team according to the following job description: **Position Title:** Physical Therapist **Department:** Direct Care / Health **Reports To:** General Manager **Position Type:** Full-time **Position Objective** Provide physical therapeutic care to individuals with intellectual disabilities to improve their mobility, functionality, autonomy, and quality of life through personalized rehabilitation and physical activation programs. **Main Responsibilities** * Assess the physical and functional status of beneficiaries * Design and implement individualized physical therapy plans * Apply rehabilitation techniques and therapeutic exercises * Conduct group physical activation sessions * Monitor progress and development of each beneficiary * Maintain clinical records and progress reports * Prevent deformities, contractures, or physical deterioration * Train nurses in mobilization and basic exercises * Identify warning signs and refer to medical care when necessary * Coordinate and train students completing social service or academic internships who support the implementation of personalized plans **Position Profile** **Education:** * Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation, or related field (degree and professional license required) **Experience:** * Minimum 3 years working with persons with disabilities (mandatory) * Experience in institutions, clinics, or civil associations (desirable) **Knowledge:** * Physical rehabilitation techniques * Management of patients with intellectual disabilities * Development of therapeutic programs * Knowledge of assessment, therapeutic intervention planning, and follow-up **Skills and Competencies** * **Empathy and service vocation** * Patience and respectful treatment * Teamwork * Effective communication * Observation and monitoring * Professional responsibility and ethics **Key Attitudes** * **Sensitivity toward vulnerable populations** * Social commitment * Respect for human dignity * Frustration tolerance **Performance Indicators** * **Improvement in beneficiaries’ mobility and functionality** * **Completion of scheduled sessions** * Timely updating of clinical records * Participation in interdisciplinary activities **Work Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 1-hour lunch break **Salary:** 12,400 monthly plus statutory benefits.
