Main Responsibilities • Validate and track compliance with customs, tax, and logistics requirements for each import shipment prior to goods arrival. • Train and advise international suppliers regarding shipment approval and documentation required by Mexican authorities. • Review and approve supplier invoices, especially for goods subject to estimated pricing, and guide suppliers through the process of invoice legalization at origin. • Ensure receipt of the acknowledgment document confirming initiation of the invoice legalization process at origin. • Verify that shipped goods match the originally authorized purchase order. • Promptly inform the Buyer and Assistant when a shipment is not approved due to document or labeling errors, to avoid fines or penalties. • Confirm instructions to the Import Logistics team to execute shipments or hold shipments at origin as applicable. • Provide continuous feedback to suppliers regarding compliance with labeling and documentation requirements. • Validate proper booking creation to ensure efficient operations in terms of time and cost. • Request cargo inspections for shipments containing goods subject to estimated pricing and train suppliers on this process. • Minimize warehouse handling of goods through proper supplier training on cargo stowage. • Authorize delivery of goods to consolidation warehouses once documentation and labeling have been validated. • Request international supplier payments from the Accounting department according to commercial agreements.
