Position Summary: A professional who will ensure the company's financial health, administrative control, and accounting management, aligned with the logistics operations of a freight forwarder. Key Highlights: 1. Design and implement the company's financial strategy. 2. Leadership and decision-making in a growth-oriented environment. 3. Strategic coordination with various operational and commercial departments. **Position Objective** Ensure the company's financial health, administrative control, and proper accounting management, guaranteeing profitability, cash flow, and tax compliance, aligned with the freight forwarder business operations (import/export, freight forwarding, and related services). **Key Finance Responsibilities** * Design and implement the company's financial strategy. * Monitor and optimize **cash flow**, considering the industry's long receivables cycles (customers vs. shipping lines/suppliers). * Oversee budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis. * Manage financing, credit lines, and banking relationships. **Administration** * Ensure the proper functioning of internal administrative processes. * Control operational (overhead) and administrative expenses. * Supervise procurement, supplier payments, and contracts. * Manage internal policies (travel allowances, expenses, assets, etc.). * Coordinate general services and administrative support for operations. **Accounting** * Ensure accurate and timely accounting records in accordance with applicable regulations. * Supervise monthly closings, bank reconciliations, and financial statements. * Ensure tax compliance (SAT, taxes, audits). * Manage internal and external audits. * Control accounts receivable and accounts payable (AR/AP), critical in the freight forwarding business. **Freight Forwarding-Specific Responsibilities** * Logistics cost control: freight charges, handling fees, warehousing, surcharges (BAF, CAF, etc.). * Financial validation of rates (pricing vs. actual margin). * Monitoring profitability per shipment. * Management of collections in international operations. * Control of provisions for services in transit. * Close coordination with the following departments: * Operations * Pricing * Sales * Customer Service **Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)** * Gross margin per operation * EBITDA * DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) * DPO (Days Payable Outstanding) * Cash conversion cycle * % of overdue receivables * Accounting closing accuracy * Budget compliance * Reduction of operational expenses. * **Candidate ProfileEducation** * Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. **Experience** * 5–10 years in finance-related positions. * Experience managing multi-entity structures or rapid growth environments (preferred). * Experience leading teams. **Technical Knowledge** * Mexican accounting and tax regulations. * Corporate finance and financial analysis. * Budgetary control. * ERP systems (Contpaqi, SAP, NetSuite, etc.). * Advanced Excel (financial modeling). * Knowledge of logistics costs (preferred). **Key Competencies** * Strategic and financial thinking * Leadership and decision-making * Results orientation * Administrative control and organization * Negotiation * Numerical analysis * Effective cross-departmental communication **Key Stakeholder Relationships** * General Management * Operations Management * Commercial/Sales Management * Pricing * Human Resources * Logistics and financial suppliers * Auditors and tax authorities **Organizational Structure** Reports to: General Management Supervises: * Accounting * Accounts Receivable * Accounts Payable * Administration **Position Challenges (Highly Important for Interview)** * Maintaining liquidity in a business with timing mismatches between collections and payments. * Controlling actual profitability per operation. * Reducing overdue receivables. * Standardizing processes within a growing company. * Integrating operational and financial information.
