Once Observatorio seeks a Kitchen Chef in Lomas De Angelópolis II \- San Andrés Cholula, Puebla** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Position Title:** Kitchen Chef **Department:** Kitchen / Operations **Position Objective:** Lead the overall kitchen operation, ensuring dish quality, proper menu execution, cost control, and team development, while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. * **Requirements:** Education: Technical or bachelor's degree in Gastronomy (preferred) Experience: Minimum 2 years as Chef or Kitchen Supervisor Age: 25 to 35 years (preferred) Gender: Unrestricted **Main Responsibilities:** * Supervise morning and afternoon kitchen shifts. * Develop and update the restaurant’s menu. * Standardize recipes, processes, and dish presentation. * Conduct dish tastings and plating validations. * Perform recipe costing and ingredient usage control. * Supervise inventory using the FIFO method (first-in, first-out). * Validate incoming ingredients and purchases. * Control and reduce waste, optimizing food usage. * Supervise proper preparation of cold and hot foods. * Coordinate, train, and lead the kitchen team. * Ensure customer service quality originating from the kitchen. **PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN:** * Kitchen operations in restaurants. * Menu development and recipe standardization. * Inventory control and waste management. * Leadership of kitchen teams. **REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE IN:** * Traditional cooking and culinary techniques. * Recipe and ingredient costing. * Inventory control (FIFO). * Good hygiene and food handling practices. **Skills and Competencies:** * Leadership and personnel management. * Effective communication. * Service-oriented attitude. * Teamwork. * Decision-making ability. * Focus on quality and results. **Schedule:** Mid-shift with availability to supervise both morning and afternoon operations. 6 working days per week / 1 day off. **Salary:** $14,000 to $15,000 monthly **Notes:** The position requires a person with firm yet approachable leadership, emphasizing human quality and team development.
