Position Summary: The Payment Application Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's financial transactions related to cash and banking activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, solid numerical skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure. Responsibilities: * Be accountable for and drive resolution and reporting of unapplied payments in the respective region. * Proactively identify and correct issues in payment application. * Provide operational support and guidance to team members; serve as the first escalation point. * Be accountable for resolving complex inquiries in the respective region. * Ensure accuracy and timeliness of the daily cash report. * Interact with and manage stakeholders. * Train and mentor new and existing team members. * Apply payments timely and accurately to external customer and intercompany accounts, in accordance with established Accounts Receivable processes and procedures. * Contact customers via email and phone regarding payment-related inquiries. * Maintain documentation in compliance with internal controls and SOX audit requirements as needed. * Prepare and ensure timely completion of monthly close reports. * Prepare third-party commission calculations and accruals where applicable. * Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (Desktop Procedures). * Manage user access requests for the team. * Be an advanced Blackline user for the area. * Actively participate in transitions, projects, process improvement initiatives, and audits. * Ensure compliance with Flowserve policies, Flowserve-defined U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and local laws and regulations, and that business operations adhere to Flowserve’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct. Requirements: * 3-5 years of relevant experience. * Experience reviewing bank statements and applying payments. * Experience handling customer prepayments. * High school diploma in Economics/Finance or a university degree is preferred. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and any other language required for the role. * Ability to build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders. * Intermediate MS Office user (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). * Knowledge and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP). * Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail. * Supportive attitude and strong interpersonal skills. * Ability to adapt to and promote change.
