Eaton’s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Ingeniero de Procesos de Moldeo, Sr.. **What you’ll do:** ------------------- **PRIMARY FUNCTION:** The Molding Process Engineer is responsible for the development, validation and innovation of new ideas, products, processes, materials and all the specific tools necessary for the molding industry in general, at an advanced engineering level. Defines and implements the functions of troubleshooting, assembly, modification, design and replacement of molds, dies and tooling; ensuring compliance with product and process specifications, maximizing efficiency in the use of resources and favorably impacting operating indicators such as: Quality, Service and Cost. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** * Coordinate and participate with HPWT (High Performance Work Teams) to achieve Hive Five Metrics * Propose and implement actions to reduce the scrap in Molding Area * Define, develop and implement efficient molding processes * Improve efficiency and cycle time in Molding Processes * Leads value engineering, DOE, and RIE events to improve part cost, quality, and performance. * Implementation and management of equipment installation, layout changes and improvements * Training and validation of the activities of technical and operational personnel in the use of molding equipment * Investigation of machine and mold damage, customer complaints, or production defects * Validation of new molds and defining process parameters * Conditioning machines or equipment designed to improve production conditions * Plans the sequences of operations and specifies the procedures for the development of tools or equipment and other functions that affect production * Project management * Establish strategies / parameters for the use of team capabilities * Process Validation for engineering changes or new products (PPAP Level 3, Use of statistical tools (Minitab) * Knowledge of plastics and engineering resins * Problem solving and decision making * Scientific Molding (Master Molder 1\) \#LI\-DS2 **Qualifications:** ------------------- **SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:** * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plastics Engineering (Polymers), Tool Engineering, Related Careers * \+5 years of experience in similar positions * Fluent in English/Spanish * Cost Out projects experience * Solving Problem techniques (5 Why's, 8D's, etc.) * Using statistical tools (Minitab) * Project management * Scientific Molding (Master Molder 1\) * Solid Works, Mold design * Molding Process * Resins (Polymers) * Molds (Cold runner \& Hot runner, Valve gate, Cores…etc) **Individual Contributor Competencies:** * Possess Effective Communication Skills * Demonstrates a Collaborative Style * Drives for Results * Make Decisions/Solves Problems * Promotes and Champions Change * Pursues Personal Development * Supplier/Customer Relationships **Other Competencies** * Strong ethics and professional presence required * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Sense of urgency * Proactive and organized * Teamwork player **ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:** --------------------------- **Quality System Responsibility** * Perform activities according to Quality policies (EQMS). * Complete annual review of functional procedures. * Active participation in customer and quality system audits. **Responsibility for Continuous Improvement** * Carry out continuous improvement activities in my area of responsibility through the deployment and use of Eaton Business System policies and processes such as ELSS, CIF, PRO\-Launch, EQS and other applicable. * Active participation in the ideas program * Identify opportunities for cost savings and work with the Operational Excellence department to execute savings projects. * Attend assigned training courses. **Mesh Responsibility** * Perform activities according to the elements of MESH principles, and methodologies to prevent accidents. * Active participation in BBS. * Report any activity that may jeopardize my safety and the environment of my colleagues. * Appropriate use of PPE. * Separate hazardous waste from normal waste. * Place hazardous waste (gloves, rags, etc.) in the assigned containers. * Keep the area clean and free of contaminants. * Do not waste water or electricity. * Identify and dispose of all chemical products that can contaminate the environment. * Act immediately in cases of chemical discharges. * Ensure use of appropriate containers for disposal of hazardous waste (identify containers and containers that prevent spills. * Ensure proper storage of hazardous waste.
