Focus on efficient material removal strategies **Position Overview:** * Our CAD/CAM Engineers are responsible for planning, programming, and optimizing machining processes for injection mold components and customer parts. · This role requires strong alignment with standard injection mold manufacturing practices, efficient machining strategies. · Close collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality, productivity, and on\-time delivery. · The ideal candidate understands the importance of efficient material removal strategies, beginning with roughing operations using appropriate large\-diameter cutters, followed by semi\-finishing and finishing operations, rather than relying excessively on EDM or WEDM processes. · This position requires a practical, production\-oriented mindset aligned with our manufacturing culture and operational timelines. **Key activities:** * Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, instructions, manuals, and technical specifications. * Understand injection mold design, mold construction, and surface finish requirements. * Apply GD\&T principles correctly throughout the programming and machining process. * Use CAD software to create accurate part models and machining geometry. * Use CAM software to program multi\-axis CNC machines (3, 4, and 5 axes). * Plan machining strategies that follow standard mold manufacturing practices, including: * Roughing operations with appropriate cutter sizes for efficient material removal. * Progressive tool size reduction for semi\-finishing and finishing. * Proper selection of machining processes to minimize excessive reliance on EDM/WEDM. * Verify NC files using simulation and verification software prior to manufacturing release. * Select optimal cutting tools and machining parameters based on material, setup, and machine capability. * Design and implement proper part clamping and fixturing strategies. * Plan and execute manufacturing processes independently or in collaboration with cross\-functional teams. * Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, efficiency, and quality. * Communicate proactively with engineers and managers regarding any risks impacting part quality, manufacturability, or production schedules. * Review and ensure quality control of CNC programs, tool lists, setup documentation, and machining plans. * Support mold repair, modification, and insert manufacturing as required. **Education:** Engineering degree and CAM certification required. **Competencies:** •Proven experience in CAM programming for multi\-axis machining (3, 4, or 5 axes) within a manufacturing or mold\-making environment. •Strong understanding of standard injection mold machining workflows, including efficient roughing and finishing strategies. •Preferred experience with Siemens NX, CATIA, and CAM software (training may be provided if needed). •Solid knowledge of machining steel and graphite (carbon), with strong fundamentals in CNC programming. •Practical, results\-oriented approach focused on manufacturability, efficiency, and realistic production timelines. •Ability to work within established manufacturing standards and align with team\-based work culture. •Strong theoretical and practical application of advanced knowledge in computer systems, analysis, programming, and engineering. **Skills:** •Communication and negotiation skills •Leadership and management •Stress management and decision\-making •Excellent attendance, positive attitude, accountability, and ability to work under pressure. **Experience:** Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role Preferably 3\+ years of experience in the maquiladora/manufacturing industry Tipo de puesto: Tiempo completo, Por tiempo indeterminado Sueldo: $1\.00 \- $2\.00 al mes Beneficios: * Opción a contrato indefinido * Seguro de vida * Servicio de comedor * Vales de despensa Lugar de trabajo: Empleo presencial
