




Descripción y detalle de las actividades Automation Controls Technician – Summary An Automation Controls Technician plays a vital role in supporting the design, integration, installation, and maintenance of automated systems in a manufacturing environment. Under the guidance of Controls Engineers, this technician ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of automation equipment, helping minimize downtime and support continuous production. **General Responsibilities:** * Hands\-on assembly and wiring of automation control panels. * Installation of field devices, including sensors, pneumatic actuators, valves, safety light curtains, limit switches, and vision cameras. * Assist in the setup and commissioning of PLCs, HMIs, and machine vision systems. * Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and vision\-related issues. * Support during production runs to maintain equipment reliability and address issues quickly. * Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). **Technical Tasks:** * Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and vision system diagrams to assemble and wire systems correctly. * Perform functional testing on components and full systems to validate performance. * Help with camera alignment, calibration, and adjusting parameters like exposure and lighting. * Contribute to the mechanical and electrical integration of automated equipment. * Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, modifications, and wiring. **Work Environment \& Methodology:** * Operate following 5S and lean manufacturing principles to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. * Collaborate with engineering teams during installation, testing, and ongoing support phases. * Provide on\-site support during production to ensure automated systems operate reliably. Experiencia y requisitos **Additional Functions:** * Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting modifications or enhancements to control and vision systems based on field experience. * Assist in the basic training of operators and maintenance personnel by demonstrating the operation and routine care of automated and vision systems. * Collaborate with engineering and documentation teams to develop and update wiring diagrams, vision setup procedures, and troubleshooting guides. * Support internal testing of new automation and vision technologies and components before deployment into production environments. **Specific Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, Automation, or a related field. * Minimum 5 years of hands\-on experience in the integration, wiring, installation, and maintenance of industrial automation systems. * Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and vision system diagrams. * Basic knowledge of PLC hardware and software (e.g., Beckhoff, Wago, Siemens). * Familiarity with HMI systems and their basic configuration and operation. * Exposure to vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, Basler), including installation, cabling, basic calibration, and troubleshooting. * Experience installing and troubleshooting sensors, pneumatic actuators, and safety devices. * Ability to identify and solve wiring, sensor, or component\-level issues in automation and vision systems. * Basic understanding of motion control systems, including VFDs and servo drives. * Knowledge of standard tools used for electrical work, such as multimeters, crimpers. * Exposure to industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, or Modbus. * Basic awareness of industrial safety standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures. * Comfortable using software to upload programs, monitor PLCs, and verify vision inspection results. * Basic English proficiency for understanding technical manuals, documentation, and instructions. * Valid passport and willingness to travel; US visa preferred.
