Summary: Bravos is seeking a highly motivated Generation Analyst to develop and improve models of power generation for informing trading decisions within an interdisciplinary team. Highlights: 1. Work cross-culturally in a fast-growing, dynamic environment **What we are looking for** Bravos is looking for highly motivated and analytical thinkers to join a team of engineers, mathematicians, economists, and data scientists. The Generation Analyst we seek will play a role in informing Bravos’ trading decisions. This position involves developing, maintaining, and improving models of power generation, both of physical characteristics and of energy offer strategies. The work involves keeping track of and analyzing the effect of new generation capacity, generation outages, and market rule updates. Candidates should be eager to work cross\-culturally with team members from Mexico and the US, and want to be part of a fast\-growing, dynamic environment. Those with a passion for rigorous analytical thinking and clean energy are especially welcome. **Responsibilities** As a Bravos Generation Analyst you will perform the following activities: * Develop and maintain models of generation capacity used in Bravos’ model for forecasting energy prices in the ERCOT and SPP markets. * Develop and maintain models of energy offers used in a model of the day\-ahead\-energy market for ERCOT and SPP. * Work closely with the transmission team and software developers to improve data pipelines and implement automated solutions for large\-scale simulations. * Develop tools for evaluating the dispatch of generators resulting from our market simulations. * Compare model results to actual market results; track causes of errors and propose improvements. * Identify and quantify risks related to changes in available generation capacities including renewable integration and energy storage. * Contribute to algorithmic development, directly impacting our trading strategies. As a Generation Analyst at Bravos, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team building fundamental power system models. It's an opportunity to be a pivotal player, engaging with extensive datasets and actively influencing our trading strategies and decisions. **Required Abilities** * Strong foundational knowledge of power systems and in particular power generation * Proficiency in data analysis, numerical computing, and database querying using Python (including its core scientific stack: Pandas/Polars, NumPy, SciPy.sparse, NetworkX) and SQL. * Ability to find creative solutions to complex problems in an independent fashion. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross\-functional team in a dynamic, fast\-paced trading environment.
