Pharmaceutical Chemical Company (Spray Drying)
JOB OBJECTIVE
Ensure the efficiency, quality, and food safety of the food plant's production processes by optimizing production lines, standardizing operations, reducing losses, and complying with sanitary regulations such as NOM-251-SSA1, HACCP, and GMP.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Optimization: Analyze, design, and improve production flows to increase output, reduce downtime and costs.
Standardization: Document and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
Indicator Control: Monitor key KPIs: OEE, material losses, raw material yield, labor productivity, cycle times.
Food Safety: Ensure that process changes comply with NOM-251-SSA1, GMP, HACCP, and FDA regulations where applicable for exports.
Project Management: Lead continuous improvement projects, automation initiatives, line balancing, and scale-up of new products.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality/food safety deviations and line stoppages. Implement corrective actions using tools such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and FMEA.
Training: Train supervisors and operators on new methods, SOPs, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Validations: Coordinate industrial trials for new products, raw materials, or equipment. Document results.
Compliance: Support customer audits, Health Ministry inspections, TIF audits, and certifications including FSSC 22000, SQF, and ISO 22000.
REQUIRED PROFILE
Academic Background
Bachelor’s Degree: Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field. Degree holder.
Desirable: Diploma or certification in Food Safety, HACCP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
Experience
3–4 years as a Process Engineer in the food, beverage, meat, dairy, bakery, or similar industries
Experience managing continuous and batch production lines
Direct experience with sanitary and customer audits
Essential Technical Knowledge
Regulatory Requirements: NOM-251-SSA1, GMP, HACCP, Traceability
Continuous Improvement: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, SMED, Kaizen
Quality Systems: FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, SQF
Software: Advanced Excel, Minitab, basic AutoCAD or SolidWorks, ERP/SAP
Thermal Processes: Pasteurization, sterilization, UHT, cooling systems

Salary: $16,000.00 – $22,000.00 per month
