Job Summary: The Fiber Optic Splicer is responsible for performing accurate and efficient fiber optic splicing to ensure reliable network connectivity and provide technical support. Key Highlights: 1. Perform fiber optic splicing using precise and efficient techniques. 2. Provide technical support and conduct OTDR testing. 3. Ensure reliable network connectivity. **Objective:** The Fiber Optic Splicer is responsible for performing fiber optic splicing using precise and efficient techniques to ensure reliable network connectivity. Additionally, the role provides technical support to installers, conducts OTDR testing, and ensures proper handling of work vehicles. **Requirements:** * Availability for flexible scheduling, ability to work under pressure, leadership, decision-making skills, teamwork, strong analytical skills for problem solving, and reporting capability. * Prior experience in fiber optic splicing, preferably within a telecommunications environment. * Completed high school education or equivalent. * Certification in fiber optic splicing techniques (preferred). * Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as required. **Responsibilities:** * Perform fiber optic splicing using fusion or mechanical splicing techniques. * Prepare and organize the work area prior to splicing, ensuring it is clean, safe, and properly equipped. * Conduct OTDR testing to verify the integrity and efficiency of the fiber optic network. * Conduct insertion loss and/or power testing to verify the integrity and efficiency of the fiber optic network. * Provide technical support to installers during fiber optic network installation and maintenance. * Safely and responsibly operate work vehicles, transporting equipment and materials as needed. * Maintain accurate records of all activities performed, including splices completed, tests conducted, and materials used. * Comply with all safety regulations and procedures related to working at heights, handling equipment and tools, and vehicle operation.
