Position Summary: The Painter will prepare, operate, and paint products and/or components according to instructions, handling equipment and working in an industrial environment with moving mechanical parts. Use and maintenance of specialized painting equipment. Position Summary: The Painter will prepare products for painting, operate painting equipment, and paint products and/or components according to operating instructions and procedures. This position regularly requires working near moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles and vibration is required. Responsibilities and Requirements: Responsible for the quality of work performed; work efficiently and in accordance with required specifications with minimal supervision. Understand and operate equipment safely and correctly. Work in a high-noise environment. Respond quickly and handle abnormal production tasks. Capable of mixing paint and completing painting tasks per the operating procedure. Perform all part-finishing activities, including sanding, part finishing, powder coating, and wet painting. Understand paint preparation processes, including masking, anodizing, and phosphating. Paint parts using powder coating or liquid paint. Capable of using, operating, and maintaining specialized equipment, including wet spray guns, hoseless systems, booths, powder coating systems, ovens, chemical tanks and processes, wet sanding maintenance, etc. Must wear appropriate safety protection in accordance with company policy. Follow safe habits, rules, and practices, including proper use of tools, machines, safety devices, and equipment. Maintain a clean and orderly workplace. Exhibit behaviors that contribute to an environment fostering teamwork, decision-making, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Read and interpret both verbal and written instructions. Participate in CIP activities as required and comply with all Flowserve policies and procedures. Understand and apply SPP and quality requirements. Communicate effectively, presenting oneself one-on-one and in small groups to customers, clients, and other organizational employees. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate rate, ratio, and percentage, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Requires related experience or training in painting. Capable of standing for extended periods. This position requires occasional walking; it also requires stretching, twisting, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements for this position include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Capable of working overtime as needed. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Experience and Skills: Painting certification. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment. High school diploma/GED and 5–7 years of relevant experience.
