We are seeking a talented **On-Site Service Technician III** to join our specialized **Maintenance** team at our **CUMMINS plant** in Cananea, SON, Mexico. **Job Description:** Act as a technical specialist and the primary customer contact to independently diagnose and complete product repairs at a single customer’s facility. **In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:** * Independently perform diagnostics and complete equipment repairs at the customer’s facility. * Maintain productive customer relationships and ensure rapid, effective response to their needs to minimize product downtime. * Deliver preventive maintenance training and/or training on repairs performed by more experienced technicians and/or customer technicians; may provide on-the-job guidance to others; may review repair schematics, parts lists, and tools, etc. * Manage inventory of parts and spare components at the worksite. Escalate unresolved issues to product specialists/supervisor. * Complete required documentation—including service work orders, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality documents—using handwritten forms or enterprise system input screens. * Identify additional sales and service opportunities with the customer. * Complete training as required by business and skill requirements. * Keep the workplace and tools clean and in good working condition. * Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation, and report any issues or incidents to site leadership and your supervisor. **Skills** * Must be able to interpret and follow Cummins fault trees and electrical diagrams. * Certification in QSK38, QSK45/60, QSK50, QSK78, and MCRS engines. * Must possess the ability to perform complex diagnostics using Cummins tools for such purposes, without supervision. * Full mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair capability to perform product repairs—including components—without supervision. * Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and recommend appropriate actions. * Ability to work safely and identify safety hazards, including completion of all required safety training. * Basic computer systems knowledge (Office). * Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. * Knowledge of quality standards if promoted internally. * Ability to develop effective working relationships and collaborate as part of a team. * Ability to apply general mathematical principles. * Ability to develop and maintain productive customer relationships and educate customers on product operation and maintenance. **Education:** Apprentice of Certified Technician in Power Generation and/or Engines. Vocational degree from a relevant technical institution (preferred). Valid electrical certification (optional). Valid local driver’s license. This position may require a license to comply with export controls or sanctions regulations. **Experience:** Extensive field service experience (Mining). In-depth knowledge of power generation and/or engine products. Basic knowledge of competitors and typical industry practices.
