Transporting materials to optimize production ### **Job Description** * Receiving, handling, and inspection of supplied raw materials and goods to verify that deliveries conform to the purchase order and shipping documents, and are in good condition. To accomplish this, the Forklift Operator primarily: o Inspects receipts visually and against the packing list and shipping documents; reports defects to the supervisor. o Marks shipments and records receipt and quality data in the system. * Storage o Stores raw materials, packaging materials, finished products, and pallets using forklifts in designated storage locations, including compliance with safety requirements. o Conducts inventory counts by periodically comparing physical stock with administrative inventory records, identifying and reporting discrepancies. * Transporting raw materials, packaging materials, supplies, finished products, and waste materials to and from production departments based on production planning, production management requests, and personal discretion—ensuring timely availability of correct products for production and avoiding bottlenecks. Accumulation of products can be prevented. * Operational support / Operator activities o Performs various manual operational tasks and/or operates basic machinery/tools. o Conducts basic material inspections and checks, such as weight verification, size verification, visual inspections, etc.; reports deviations to the supervisor. * Other duties as required, for example: o Performs user-level maintenance on mobile equipment. o Performs other tasks as required. * Housekeeping / Compliance o Keeps mobile equipment and other tools, the workplace, and the environment clean and orderly; o Cleans all equipment and the work environment. o Carries out all activities in accordance with applicable quality and HSE standards, including both internal Nutreco standards and external standards. * Communication o Reports defects, deviations, and other non-compliance issues to the supervisor. o Discusses work with colleagues and the supervisor. o Provides information upon request and follows instructions and guidance from colleagues and supervisors. * Compliance o Works in full compliance with all applicable SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) requirements and regulations, as well as operational standards, legal requirements, safety rules and procedures, and technical standards. o Identifies potentially hazardous and/or unsafe situations and takes appropriate action in case of imminent unsafe conditions.
