Job Description and Detailed Responsibilities
**Role Purpose**
Lead and manage a team of process engineers responsible for assembly, cable assembly, molding/overmolding, and manufacturing processes for power connectors and cable assemblies. Ensure strong execution across product development, production line transfer, and sustaining manufacturing while driving manufacturability (DFM/DFA), process stability, and continuous improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Directly manage and develop the Senior Process Engineer, Cable Assembly Process Engineer, Molding/Overmolding Process Engineer, and Assembly Process Engineer
* Provide technical and execution leadership across product development, NPI, line transfer, and sustaining manufacturing
* Ensure strong collaboration with Product Development, Fixture Design, and Test Engineering teams
* Drive consistent application of DFM and DFA to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and scalability
* Review and approve process definitions, validations, and line\-transfer readiness
* Lead issue escalation, root\-cause analysis, and corrective actions for process\-related production issues
* Balance resources, priorities, and execution across multiple products and process technologies
* Coach and mentor engineers on technical depth, problem solving, and shop\-floor execution
Experience and Requirements
**Scope \& Authority**
* Ownership of process engineering execution across assembly, cable assembly, and molding/overmolding technologies
* Authority to prioritize work, assign resources, and approve process solutions within defined design and manufacturing boundaries
* Authority to provide consolidated DFM/DFA input to Product Development and Engineering leadership
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
* 8\+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering (connectors or cable assemblies preferred)
* Demonstrated supervisory or people\-management experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Strong understanding of assembly, cable assembly, and molding/overmolding processes
* Proven ability to lead cross\-functional teams and drive execution through influence
