Main responsibilities 1\. Academic accompaniment and support * Be present during the school day to help the child follow the homeroom teacher's instructions. * Guide the child through classroom activities, assignments, and routines without completing them on his/her behalf. * Facilitate strategies to improve attention (e.g., visual supports, clear routines, active breaks). * Adapt materials or instructions simply and visually, if necessary. ⸻ 2\. Behavioral and emotional support * Promote emotional self-regulation using breathing techniques, routines, and positive reinforcement. * Anticipate potential situations of frustration or distraction and intervene preventively. * Foster self-esteem, patience, and tolerance for waiting. * Remain calm and use positive, clear language. ⸻ 3\. Socialization and interpersonal skills * Facilitate the child’s interaction with peers, mediating as needed during play or conflicts. * Encourage participation in group activities without overprotecting. * Model appropriate behaviors (e.g., waiting for one’s turn, sharing, respecting boundaries). ⸻ 4\. Communication and coordination * Maintain constant communication with the homeroom teacher and school administration regarding progress and challenges. * Record daily observations (behavior, attention, emotions, achievements, incidents). * Coordinate with parents and external therapists (if any) to ensure continuity of support. * Participate in meetings or evaluations when requested. ⸻ 5\. Daily routine support * Accompany the child during transitional moments (arrival, recess, activity changes, dismissal). * Supervise adherence to basic routines: meals, organization, hygiene, rest. * Gradually foster autonomy (e.g., dressing independently, putting away materials, appropriately requesting help). ⸻ Recommended personal competencies * Patience and empathy. * Observational skill and adaptability. * Clear and affectionate communication. * Discretion and respect for family privacy. * Basic knowledge of child development and attention strategies.
