At STERIS, we help our customers create a healthier and safer world by delivering innovative healthcare solutions and service and product offerings related to the life sciences worldwide. **Position Summary** -------------------- Operates numerical control (NC) machines (Mazatrol EIA ISO, Haas, Fanuc controls), including machining centers, brake presses, and panel benders, within the specifications required by the process. **Duties** ---------- * Receives work instructions from the supervisor or designated representative. * Interprets traveler sheets, blueprints, and/or other work instruction documents. * Operates equipment within the machine's capabilities across various materials. * Inspects own work to ensure quality production in accordance with engineering documentation and other specifications. * Performs necessary equipment adjustments (set-up, tool changes, and tool adjustments). * Secondary tasks are performed when time permits. * Conducts 5S activities in the assigned area. * Complies with all quality standards and safety regulations. * Performs additional duties as required to meet business needs. * Performs autonomous maintenance on applicable equipment. **Duties \- cont'd** -------------------- **Machining and Tooling Technical Skills** -------------------------------------- **Required Experience** ----------------------- * One (1\) to three (3\) years of experience operating numerical control machines, including machining centers, brake presses, and panel benders. * One year of experience with conventional machine tools—including milling and turning—is preferred. * Proficiency in using measuring instruments (e.g., vernier calipers, height gauges, micrometers). * Ability to read drawings and part specification blueprints. * Familiarity with quality records, first-piece and last-piece inspections, etc. **Preferred Experience** ------------------------ **Skills** ---------- * Effective communication with coworkers and support departments. * Intuitive, self-directed, and receptive to instructions. * Knowledge of machining concepts, practices, and procedures.
