Summary
The APQP Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities to ensure new products and processes meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role supports successful product launches, ensures compliance with IATF 16949, and works cross\-functionally to minimize risks related to product and process quality.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities: \- Lead and manage APQP activities for new product introductions and engineering changes. \- Develop and maintain APQP deliverables including timing plans, risk assessments, and status reports. \- Coordinate cross\-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Suppliers). \- Facilitate and support DFMEA and PFMEA development and updates. Ensure Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and Work Instructions are created and aligned. \- Lead PPAP preparation and submission activities in accordance with customer requirements. \- Monitor and support prototype, pre\-launch, and production phases. \- Track and report project milestones, risks, and issues; ensure on\-time launch readiness. \- Support customer audits, reviews, and launch readiness assessments. \- Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned from previous launches. \- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer\-specific requirements, and internal standards.
Education / Qualifications
Required Qualifications: \- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related). \- More than 3 years of experience in APQP or Quality Engineering within the automotive industry. \- Strong knowledge of: APQP methodology PPAP DFMEA / PFMEA Control Plans IATF 16949 Experience working with OEM and Tier 1 customer requirements. \- Proficiency in quality tools (Core Tools). \- Strong project management and organizational skills. \- Advanced English
