We are bridging two worlds—advancing toward more sustainable energy sources while simultaneously helping provide the energy, chemicals, and resources needed today. **Position Objective**: The Pipeline Project Engineer is responsible for end-to-end management of gas and fuel transportation pipeline projects, with emphasis on civil discipline, ensuring compliance with scope, cost, schedule, quality, and regulatory requirements. Acts as the project engineer within an engineering firm (EPCM/EPC), coordinating technical disciplines (civil, mechanical, process, electrical, and instrumentation), overseeing engineering deliverables, and ensuring proper design integration with construction, permitting, and operations. Primary function is to translate client requirements into executable technical solutions, maintaining both technical and administrative control of the project. **Key Responsibilities:** Engineering knowledge for gas pipelines, isolation valves, location classes, crossing drawings, alignment sheets, EMRYCs. Knowledge of gas transportation standards, works associated with construction supervision and EPCs. **Project Management** * Coordinate development of conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering for pipeline projects. * Control scope, schedule, and budget in coordination with the Project Manager. * Manage changes (MOC – Management of Change). * Ensure achievement of project milestones and deliverables. **Civil Engineering Applied to Pipelines** * Design and review right-of-way (ROW). * Develop earthwork, cut-and-fill solutions. * Design and coordinate special crossings (rivers, roads, railways, HDD, microtunneling). * Analyze slope stability and erosion protection. * Design drainage and hydraulic control structures. * Coordinate geotechnical, topographic, hydrologic, and hydraulic studies. **Multidisciplinary Coordination** * Integrate interfaces among disciplines (civil, mechanical, process, electrical, instrumentation). * Ensure consistency among drawings, specifications, and models. * Lead technical meetings with internal and external teams. **Deliverable Management** * Review and approve IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings. * Review technical specifications and calculation memoranda. * Validate material take-offs (MTO). * Ensure compliance with standards (ASME, API, NFPA, and local regulations). **Client and Stakeholder Engagement** * Act as the technical point of contact with the client. * Present progress, risks, and deviations. * Coordinate with regulatory authorities and permit management. **Construction Support** * Provide technical support during execution. * Respond to RFIs (Requests for Information). * Participate in constructability reviews. **Risk Management** * Identify technical and construction-related risks. * Propose mitigation measures. **What Will You Bring?** **Software, Processes, and Tools:** **Technical Skills** * Civil design applied to pipelines (ROW, crossings, slope stability). * Knowledge of ASME B31\.4, B31\.8, API, and local regulatory standards. * Advanced interpretation of engineering drawings and models. **Project Management** * Project planning and control (MS Project, Primavera P6\). * Cost and schedule management. * Change control and document management. **Software** * Civil 3D or similar. * AutoCAD. * GIS software (desirable). * Primavera P6 or MS Project. * Advanced Excel. **Key Skills** * Multidisciplinary coordination. * Analytical thinking and problem solving. * Effective technical communication. * Engineering-based decision making. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (preferred). * Master’s degree in Engineering or Project Management (desirable). * 5–10 years’ experience in gas and/or hydrocarbon pipeline projects. * Experience with EPC or EPCM engineering firms. * Proven experience in civil engineering for pipelines and project management. * Technical English. Desirable Certifications * PMP (Project Management Professional).
