Summary: Manages comprehensive facility operations, including maintenance, security, safety, and budgeting, ensuring compliance and strategic planning. Highlights: 1. Shape facility policies and procedures for a global organization 2. Lead and develop a facilities team 3. Contribute to a safer, more sustainable world • Responsible for controlling facility operations functions such as, maintenance of grounds, buildings and equipment, security, shipping/receiving, space\-planning design, hazardous material handling and safety programs in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local requirements. • Interacts with Facilities Managers at other UL locations to coordinate operations of each facility, maintain conformity between offices and provide service and support to smaller UL facilities located within the immediate geographical region. • Develops and manages operating, expense and capital budgets for the Department as well as the space budget for the entire operation of the facility. Operates within those budgets as directed by the Facilities Director or Site Manager. Explores space cost reduction measures to reduce facility operating expenses. • Develops and implements long range and strategic Corporate plans for the facility and undertakes Corporate projects resulting in establishment of policy, procedures and direction that impact all UL facilities. Participates in community activities that are beneficial to UL and its staff and in professional organizations in order to stay current in emerging technologies, methodologies and practices. • Designs and administers systems and procedures to effectively manage compliance issues of significant exposure and potential liability such as Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), Chemical Hygiene, etc. • Responsible for organizing, planning, scheduling and assigning work and training of Facilities staff. Manage work order and preventative maintenance system. • Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to. • May be assigned additional operational responsibilities at the direction of the Facilities Director or Site Manager. • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices • Undertakes or supervises special projects as directed. * Advanced level of English * University Degree (Equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree) in a technical discipline * 10 years facilities management experience, at least five of which were at a facility with over 1500 employees. **What you’ll experience working for ULS** * UL Solutions has been pioneering change since 1894 and we’re still leading the way.
