Job Objective The Yard Interchanger is responsible for physically inspecting trailers, container chassis, and equipment; documenting their entry and exit conditions; and reporting any detected damage. This is primarily an operational yard position; therefore, the majority of work is conducted on-site inspecting units, not in an office. Responsibilities Conduct basic physical inspections of trailers and equipment. Inspect tires, lights, brakes, doors, bumpers, and landing gear. Record and report damage detected on units. Take photographic evidence of equipment condition. Complete interchange forms and unit condition reports. Support yard movement control. Follow operational instructions from the department. Essential Requirements Minimum 2 years’ experience in interchange or transportation yard operations (mandatory). Basic experience inspecting trailers, containers, or transportation equipment. Basic knowledge of trailer or container chassis components. Willingness to work primarily in the yard. Flexible availability regarding working hours.
