We are seeking a talented **On-Site Service Technician III** to join our specialized **Maintenance** team at our **CUMMINS plant** in Cananea, SON, Mexico. **Job Description:** Act as a technical specialist and primary customer contact to independently diagnose and complete product repairs at a single customer’s facility. **In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:** * Independently perform diagnostics and complete equipment repairs at the customer’s facility. * Maintain productive customer relationships and ensure prompt, effective response to their needs to minimize product downtime. * Deliver training on preventive maintenance and/or repairs performed by more experienced technicians and/or customer technicians; may provide on-the-job guidance to others; may review repair schematics, parts lists, and tools, etc. * Manage on-site inventory of parts and spare components. Escalate unresolved issues to product specialists/supervisors. * Complete required documentation—including service work orders, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality documents—via handwritten forms or enterprise system input screens. * Identify additional sales and service opportunities with the customer. * Complete training per business and skill requirements. * Keep the work area and tools clean and in good working condition. * Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation, and report any issues or incidents to site management and your supervisor. **To succeed in this position, you will need the following:** * Extensive field service experience (Mining). * In-depth knowledge of power generation products and/or engines. * Basic understanding of competitors and typical industry practices. * Practical experience in High Voltage and Low Voltage (optional). *We are a company committed to promoting diversity in the workplace and provide equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, disability, national origin, age, religion, or sexual orientation.* **Skills** * Must be able to interpret and follow Cummins fault trees and electrical diagrams. * Certification for QSK38, QSK45/60, QSK50, QSK78, and MCRS engines. * Must be capable of performing complex diagnostics using Cummins tools without supervision. * Full mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair capability to perform product repairs—including components—without supervision. * Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and recommend appropriate actions. * Ability to work safely and identify safety hazards, including completion of all required safety training. * Basic computer system knowledge (Office). * Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. * Knowledge of quality standards if an internal promotion candidate. * Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate in teams. * Ability to apply general mathematical principles. * Ability to develop and maintain productive customer relationships and educate customers on product operation and maintenance. **Education:** Apprentice Certified Technician in Power Generation and/or Engines. Vocational degree from a relevant technical institution (preferred). Valid electrical certification (optional). Valid local driver’s license. This position may require a license to comply with export controls or sanctions regulations. **Experience:** Extensive field service experience (Mining).
