Ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations, permits, and operational requirements, as well as the proper implementation of defined environmental programs. This role strongly emphasizes continuous improvement of environmental performance, monitoring of key indicators, and cross-functional coordination with Production, Maintenance, and EHS. It is a position focused on operational environmental management at the plant level. A Day In The Life * Ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, permits, and regulations governing plant operations by coordinating necessary actions across various departments. * Maintain up-to-date environmental documentation—including licenses, reports, logs, and manifests—ensuring proper organization and availability for environmental inspections and audits. * Coordinate the handling of hazardous, non-hazardous, and recyclable waste generated at the plant, controlling segregation, storage, transportation, and final disposal in accordance with environmental regulations. * Supervise control of atmospheric emissions, wastewater discharges, and solid waste, periodically verifying that they remain within parameters established by applicable legislation. * Monitor water, energy, and raw material consumption at the plant, proposing optimization initiatives that contribute to reducing environmental impact and enhancing operational sustainability. * Implement environmental impact reduction and sustainability programs, tracking execution and evaluating results to drive continuous improvement of environmental performance. * Train operational and administrative personnel on environmental best practices, ensuring awareness and application of established environmental management procedures at the plant. * Analyze environmental indicators, prepare performance reports, and propose improvement plans to correct deviations and reinforce achievement of environmental objectives. * Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and EHS to ensure environmental compliance in daily operations, participating in activity planning and incident resolution. * Support improvement, expansion, or process modification projects from an environmental perspective, identifying risks, regulatory requirements, and constraints that may affect operations. * Actively collaborate with EHS initiatives. What will help you thrive in this role? * Minimum 3 years of experience in plant-level environmental management, preferably in metal-mechanical industries. * Solid knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and STPS standards, capable of interpreting and applying environmental laws, permits, and regulations across all plant operational activities. * Practical knowledge of ISO 14001 systems, including implementation, maintenance, documentation, and participation in internal or external environmental audits in industrial settings. * Strong organizational and follow-up skills to maintain current environmental documentation, coordinate environmental inspections and audits, and ensure timely closure of actions arising from them. * Intermediate English proficiency. * Interest in plant-floor work. **Hubbell Incorporated** Hubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
