John Crane is part of Smiths Group (www.smiths.com), a global leader in applying advanced technologies to markets including threat and contraband detection, energy, medical devices, communications, and engineered components. **Job Description** Produce various components for mechanical seal manufacturing by machining complex parts that meet customer requirements according to drawing specifications. Responsibilities (illustrative, not exhaustive): * Interpret engineering drawings based on dimensional and geometric tolerances * Verify that equipment is operating correctly and equipped with necessary tools for the operation * Select, inspect, and install work-holding fixtures and cutting tools onto the machine table * Load raw material onto the machinery * Run the programmed sequence as specified by the system * Deburr and polish the machined part on the lathe * Verify that machined parts comply with drawing standards and specifications **Requirements** Education / Training: Technical degree in machine tools; training courses in CNC machines Experience: One year operating numerically controlled lathes (2- and 3-axis) or machining centers (3-axis) Knowledge / Skills: Proficiency in Mazatrol and ISO programming languages (preferred) Operation of CNC machines, lathes, and machining centers General knowledge of industrial safety and hygiene General knowledge of workshop tools Proficient handling and use of measuring instruments and cutting tools Basic knowledge of technical drawing and blueprint reading Availability: Willingness to rotate shifts, change working hours, and adjust rest days **Additional Information** * In accordance with our mission, vision, and Global Policies: Under no circumstances will personnel be charged any fees or other costs related to their employment with Smiths, whether directly or indirectly.
