LS Cable \& System is seeking a **Production Engineer** to support the establishment, control, and improvement of production processes in our new manufacturing plant in Mexico. This role is essential for building the operational foundation of LS, ensuring stable, safe, and efficient processes aligned with global standards.
The ideal candidate brings **strong technical expertise**, the ability to **standardize and document processes**, **operational leadership**, and an **advanced level of conversational and technical English**, required for communication with global teams, corporate documentation, and technology transfer.
**PROFILE**
* Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
* 2 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering.
* Strong knowledge of:
* Process control and stability
* Line balancing
* Time and motion studies
* Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, VSM, SMED)
* Scrap reduction, efficiency, and productivity improvement
* **Advanced conversational and technical English (required).**
* Ability to work on the production floor and coordinate with technical areas.
* Availability for operational support and incident response.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Establish, document, and improve production processes according to LS Cable \& System global standards.
* Develop work instructions, process sheets, and operational parameters.
* Monitor key performance indicators: OEE, scrap, productivity, efficiency, and cycle times.
* Analyze process deviations and lead corrective and preventive actions.
* Coordinate line startups, process validation, and production release.
* Implement Lean tools to optimize flow and reduce waste.
* Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance to ensure operational continuity.
* Participate in automation, standardization, and technology improvement projects.
* Train operators on new methods, standards, and operational discipline.
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
**DESIRABLE (Highly Relevant for LS)**
* Experience in **plating** (electroplating, metal coatings, electrolytic baths).
* Experience in **welding** (SMAW, MIG, **TIG**, resistance welding, or automated welding processes).
* Knowledge of metalworking or metal transformation processes.
* Experience controlling critical parameters (temperature, current, chemistry, torque, etc.).
* Knowledge of SPC, PFMEA, and statistical process control.
* Lean or Six Sigma certifications.
* Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
* Experience in plant startup, process implementation, or process standardization (preferred).
