




- **General Responsibilities:** * Receive and review customer design requirements (3D, drawings/blueprints, electronic information, etc.). * Review and verify product drawing compliance with Aptiv and Customer design standards. * Work directly with technicians/designers to resolve design issues. * Create and release 2D drawings and customer bill of materials (BOM) documentation. * Perform sequential verifications and issue error-free 2D drawings and BOMs. Maintain updated harness drawings/blueprints, bills of materials, and related product information. * Request process validation and release requisitions (TCVR, splice/sonic terminals and sleeve sealing), additionally request component design and change requisitions (CR’s). * Enter new components into eTracker. * Support build events at Aptiv Manufacturing Plants and with the Customer. * Support enterprise operating system (EoS). * Generate and release Engineering authorizations: Standard and Mandatory – and error-free AV's. * Support engineering change quotation process. * Schedule meetings to communicate design change details with Operations (Methods, Quality, Process, etc.). * Support testing phases for improvements in area software or systems. * Support material and labor cost reduction initiatives (VAVE’s and MI). * Serve as primary contact (liaison) to address design issues between Operations/Customer. * Complete and monitor Application Engineering Metrics. * Problem resolution analysis. * Participate in customer meetings. * Actively participate in workshops related to design improvement as requested by Customer/Aptiv. Be responsible for major harness families. * Responsible for the design of conduits, grommets, special and multiple cables, etc. * Responsible for assigned technicians. * Manage different platforms and model years. * Lead and participate in special projects. * Participate and support quotations for new business.**Required Competencies/Skills** * English proficiency – Advanced. * Completed degree in Engineering. * >3 years of experience in automotive harnesses. * Experience with AutoCAD, Solid Works, CATIA, UG, CapH, Zuken, etc. Knowledge of Microsoft Office. * Experience in engineering change and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of key and basic quality tools. * Ability to organize, prioritize, and effectively manage conflicting multiple tasks. * Ability to make intelligent and timely decisions to solve problems independently. * Good communication skills. * Demonstrate ability to work independently and within a team environment.
