We are seeking a talented **CONTROLS TECHNICIAN III** to join our specialized **MANUFACTURING** team at **CUMMINS** in **Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.** **Controls Technician III – Integrated Job Description** **Job Summary** Controls Technician III performs specialized technical activities supporting manufacturing operations through programming, maintenance, and enhancement of industrial control systems. Responsible for ensuring operational continuity of equipment, promoting safety, quality, and continuous improvement standards, and serving as a technical resource for the team via training and instruction for less-experienced personnel. **Key Responsibilities** * Develop, modify, and maintain PLC programs and industrial robot sequences. * Perform diagnostics, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems. * Support analysis of equipment uptime and downtime to improve MTTR and MTBF metrics. * Provide feedback and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs. * Comply with and promote safety standards, including LOTO policies, proper use of PPE, and immediate reporting of incidents or hazards. * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. * Collaborate with production, maintenance, and support teams to eliminate manufacturing constraints and improve processes. * Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and TPM teams. * Ensure compliance with quality standards and documented procedures. * Train and mentor other team members and serve as an informal technical resource. **Qualifications** **Responsibilities** **Required Technical Knowledge** * PLC programming and sequencing (Allen Bradley). * Industrial robot programming and maintenance (Yaskawa, Fanuc, and Cobots). * Knowledge of MES systems. * Experience with Keyence vision systems. * Familiarity with Fronius welding equipment and wire feed systems. * Operation and maintenance of servo motors, Festo pneumatic valves, and cylinders. * Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. * Application of quality standards and preventive/predictive maintenance methodologies. * Industrial safety protocols and hazardous energy control (LOTO). **Competencies** * Collaborative teamwork, effective communication, and technical leadership. * Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes. * Focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. * Structured problem analysis and resolution skills. * Autonomy to work independently. * Commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplace. * Ability to train and develop other team members. **Required Experience** * Significant industrial maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing environments. * Experience diagnosing and resolving faults in automated equipment. * Experience in programming, maintenance, and support of PLCs and industrial robots. * Experience maintaining control systems, servo motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics. * Experience analyzing failures and improving reliability metrics. **Education and Certifications** * Completed high school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement). * Technical degree or engineering program in progress or completed in Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, or related fields (preferred). **Job** Manufacturing **Organization** Cummins Inc. **Role Category** On\-site with Flexibility **Job Type** Shop **ReqID** 2427701 **Relocation Package** Yes **100% On\-Site** Yes Due to the operational nature and specific job duties of this role, work is required to be completed 100% in person/On\-site.
