Position Title: Line Lead Reports To: BU Manager Department: Manufacturing Location: Escobedo Plant, NL **Purpose of the Position:** The Line Lead is responsible for driving the implementation and maturation of the Hershey Lean operations model at the plant by adopting an approach focused on developing, implementing, and operating the systems proposed by Hsy Lean as the pathway to delivering stability, predictability, flexibility, and agility to operations within a TPM environment; as a service leader, their experience must help develop operators’ technical and communication skills. The Line Lead is a member of the Business Unit leadership team structure and works closely with the BU Leader, Process Leader, Reliability Leader, and the rest of the core team. They are accountable for the operation and performance of one or more assigned production lines, ensuring coordination with support areas for activities required to achieve business results. They are responsible for organizing and supervising manufacturing activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements from Quality and Safety, as well as company policies and procedures. They are responsible for financial planning, direction, and administration of the operations personnel who safely meet requirements to ensure business continuity. Likewise, they must ensure personnel receive necessary training and possess the required skills to successfully perform their roles. The Line Lead must foster a workplace environment built on trust that motivates employees to continue developing and contributing to the company’s growth. Additionally, as owner of the “CIL” (Cleaning, Inspection, Lubrication) system, they are responsible for implementing Autonomous Maintenance methodology on assigned production lines, building operators’ knowledge and skills to eliminate forced equipment wear. The Line Lead must monitor implementation progress and connect operational needs arising from the floor with the various pillars. The Line Lead is co\-responsible for the “Defect Handling” system; their role is to ensure personnel on the shop floor acquire the knowledge to detect defects and actively promote reporting and logging them in the platform to achieve system maturity. They are responsible for tracking and maintaining line loss data, ensuring it captures all waste generation points and remains high\-quality information; furthermore, they must ensure teams use this database in relevant forums to eliminate root causes of major impacts on efficiency and service metrics. The Line Lead independently executes high\-complexity projects with significant business impact (these projects may relate to various operational aspects, e.g., people, safety, procedures, finance, etc.). Compliance with BPM to ensure product safety and quality. Knowledge, compliance, and maintenance of applicable EHS requirements for the role. **Key Responsibilities:** Develops and coaches supervisors / operators in their daily performance. * Understands, prioritizes, and delegates the daily activity list to ensure standardized performance. * Designs, executes, and participates in improvement projects targeting loss elimination on their production lines. * Develops and manages the CIL and Standard Work systems. * Analyzes loss data and develops work plans based on data/trends. **Skills and Knowledge:** Strong technical knowledge of packaging and processing equipment operations. Capable of developing action plans based on identified problems (analytical, trend, and statistical skills). Understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts (desirable). Experience in data collection and analysis.
