Our leading brands include **ITT Cannon, Enidine, Aerospace Controls** and **kSARIA.** Position Summary: Responsible for importing all materials, spare parts, machinery, and equipment required by the company to achieve its objectives from anywhere worldwide; clarifying any doubts or issues related to shipments originating from the U.S. or outside the U.S. with carriers. Prepare import and export entries, ensuring compliance with U.S. and Mexican customs laws. Apply tariff preferences using benefits under NAFTA, PROSEC, and Rule Eight to minimize customs duty payments. Avoid using external customs brokers to achieve projected savings in import and export customs expense categories. Request NAFTA certificates from suppliers and issue origin certificates for our customers, minimizing import duty payments to the U.S. wherever possible by leveraging preferential trade agreements. Essential Responsibilities: * Maintain the company’s Excellent standing regarding compliance with customs laws in Mexico and the United States. * Review received emails daily to identify daily priorities, plan, and coordinate activities between shipping and customs. * Attend production meetings to assess support needs and provide assistance to anyone requesting or requiring help with issues related to shipping and customs departments. * Monitor website links to track changes in Mexican and U.S. foreign trade regulations and implement updates immediately, especially regarding tariff and tax changes. * Support customer service in resolving shipment-related inquiries. * Support the procurement department for urgent materials or goods-in-transit issues originating from anywhere worldwide. * Review and sign daily operational documents and customs entries. * Analyze existing work procedures to reduce costs and increase efficiency in customs and shipping departments. * Coordinate transfer activities among local and non-local maquiladoras for imports and exports. * Collaborate with the legal department on tariff classifications of materials and finished products, as well as export license compliance. * Prepare check requisitions for services rendered to the company and analyze associated expenditures. * Maintain close communication with the U.S. warehouse manager to ensure timely product delivery to customers. * Analyze activities to improve logistics coordination between shipping and customs departments. * Ensure daily compliance with U.S. and Mexican laws. * Classify materials, machines, and equipment when necessary. * Participate in internal and external audits, including Mexican customs audits. * Classify and analyze goods under NAFTA requirements per customer specifications. * Request certificates from suppliers and prepare them for our customers. * Conduct periodic review of customs entries. * Verify compliance with permits. Job Requirements: **EDUCATION:** * Bachelor's degree * Customs Representative license. **EXPERIENCE:** * Minimum 5\-8 years of experience in a similar role within the maquiladora industry. * Strong knowledge of implementing regulatory requirements, preferably. **LANGUAGES:** 90% bilingual Spanish–English, fluent spoken and written preferred.
