The **Seed Processing Specialist** position will be responsible for comprehensively leading and optimizing research seed handling processes during the post-harvest stage—including drying, threshing, packaging, and fumigation—ensuring high operational standards and effective coordination of the responsible team. Guarantee proper seed handling for experimental plantings by supervising cold room inventory planning and control, as well as compliance with applicable regulations for export and import operations. Drive adherence to quality standards and promote continuous improvement, contributing to the timely execution of scheduled activities within the research cycle. Drive and lead safety compliance by identifying routine and non-routine activities, implementing Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Core Permits, and developing protocols. ***Responsibilities:*** * Plan, coordinate, and supervise all operational activities related to research seed handling during the post-harvest stage, maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing manual and automated filling of experiments originating from Mexico, North America, and Europe programs, ensuring operational efficiency and correct execution of critical processes such as drying, threshing, treatment, equipment calibration, moisture sampling, packaging, and cold room management—all while ensuring traceability, quality, and safety of material at each stage. * Supervise a team of over 50 collaborators involved in various operational processes, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, verifying attendance, and ensuring compliance with EHS&S protocols and corporate quality standards. Additionally, manage seed requests and control inventory availability, ensuring materials destined for experimental plantings are processed correctly and delivered on time and in full. * A key responsibility is coordinating export and import-related activities—including obtaining phytosanitary certificates, collecting seeds at customs, and verifying compliance with current regulatory requirements. The leader maintains consistent and effective communication with internal departments and external suppliers, promptly reporting progress, incidents, and operational needs. * Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of seed processing and drying equipment, ensuring appropriate calibrations and managing technical support when required. Also responsible for reporting software failures, ensuring timely program updates, and maintaining accurate records of calibrations, maintenance, and operational activities. * Finally, actively participate in internal and external meetings, contribute to updating and improving internal procedures, and support complementary operational activities—including fieldwork and import process support—while remaining available for extended hours, weekends, and shift rotations during peak demand periods. ***Requirements:*** * Academic background in Industrial Engineering, Agronomy, or related disciplines. * Intermediate-to-advanced English proficiency. * More than three years of experience in seed handling and processing, demonstrating technical mastery of drying, threshing, treatment, packaging, equipment calibration, inventory management, and experimental site preparation. * Advanced computer skills—especially in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI—as well as the ability to manage databases, use internal corporate applications, and willingness to learn new technological platforms. * Proven leadership capabilities for teams exceeding 50 people, maintaining excellent interpersonal relationships, fostering an environment of respect and ethics, and exercising clear, assertive, and effective communication. * Must demonstrate the ability to convey technical knowledge, supervise complex operational activities, and guide staff in executing critical tasks.
