Participation in continuous improvement and cost reduction. **Manufacturing Engineer** **Summary** Responsible for determining the operations required to manufacture products by reviewing part drawings, specifications, and other engineering data. Plan, schedule, execute, or coordinate phases of engineering projects. May develop operation sequences, estimate time requirements for each, and prepare operation sheets. At LDM, we are a professional, motivated, and committed team. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide support for Lean initiatives aligned with the LPS department: * Maintain the department’s 5S standards. * Collaborate with production planning to establish manufacturing priorities and ensure all tools and documentation are available and aligned with the Quality Management System. * Attend Advanced Quality Planning meetings to support process design and selection of necessary tools. * Serve as the liaison with customers to ensure specific needs are met and requirements are addressed. * Interface with raw material and tooling suppliers to establish engineering requirements for production launch. * Perform analysis and identify solutions for specific process issues related to assigned projects/parts. * Participate in quotations for new projects and process improvements, considering material and process costs, tooling, gauges, and capital investment costs, if applicable. * Participate in productivity improvement investigations through time studies. * Deliver training on applicable engineering processes and documentation to operations. * Maintain continuous process control through quality problem resolution and process improvement investigation. * Conduct periodic reviews of all processes and operator instructions for assigned customers to ensure accuracy and compliance with procedures, meeting customer and Quality Management System requirements. * Monitor tool consumption and take action to implement improvements. * Continuous improvement in cycle time and process capability. * Provide support for improving process flows. * Keep updated the bill of materials and tools, work instructions, and process documentation for assigned areas. * Participate in the corrective action process to resolve customer complaints. * Participate in the CAT cost reduction team. * Ensure compliance with applicable elements of the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System relevant to your role. * Ensure compliance with applicable ATF 16949 Quality Management System standards for the position, through implementation of function-specific processes. **Minimum Requirements** * Engineering degree * 3 years of experience **Desired Qualifications** * Knowledge of machining * AutoCAD * CNC machining cycle times * Knowledge/experience in machine processes, cutting tools, fixturing, CNC * Practical knowledge of IATF and ISO 14001 * Interpretation of mechanical drawings * GD \& T * Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook * Experience using statistical analysis, design, and manufacturing software * Core Tools * 8 Ds **Why Linamar?** * Opportunities to grow your career * Community outreach supporting local and global charitable initiatives and organizations * Social committees and sports teams * Events, including discounts from automotive suppliers * Cafeteria services * Benefits exceeding statutory requirements * Respectful work environment * We promote equality in selection, compensation, and professional development Linamar Corporation is a diversified global manufacturer of high-engineering products.
