Hospital / Specialized Clinic / Surgical Center **Employment Type:** On-site **Job Objective** Ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of biomedical equipment used in otorhinolaryngology procedures—with particular emphasis on facial nerve monitoring systems, surgical microscopes, and bone-temporal milling equipment—through preventive and corrective maintenance, operational verification, basic user training, intraoperative technical support, and proper logistical and documentation management for the entry and exit of surgical equipment and instruments in hospital settings. **Functions and Responsibilities** **Technical and Operational Support** * Perform pre-surgical inspection, configuration, and functional testing of equipment. * Provide technical support during surgical procedures when required. * Verify correct integration and compatibility among medical devices and accessories. * Diagnose technical failures and perform basic and advanced corrective maintenance. * Supervise proper assembly, disassembly, transportation, and storage of specialized equipment. **Hospital Entry and Exit Management** * Be responsible for the entry and exit of biomedical equipment and surgical instruments in hospitals and surgical centers. * Verify that incoming equipment and instruments match established checklists and inventories. * Prepare and manage forms, logbooks, and documentation required by hospital institutions for equipment access and removal. * Ensure compliance with hospital protocols for safety, sterility, and traceability. * Coordinate logistics for transportation, delivery, and receipt of specialized surgical equipment. * Report incidents, damages, shortages, or irregularities identified during transport or administrative processes. **Preventive Maintenance** * Execute preventive maintenance programs per manufacturer manuals and applicable regulations. * Perform technical cleaning, calibration, and performance testing of equipment. * Maintain control of logbooks, service reports, and maintenance records. **Equipment Under Responsibility** **Facial Nerve Monitoring** * Configuration and verification of intraoperative neuromonitoring systems. * Inspection of electrodes, cables, stimulation modules, and safety parameters. * Validation of signal quality and system functionality. **Surgical Microscope for ORL** * Verification of optical systems, illumination, focus, and mechanical mobility. * Inspection of cameras, recording systems, and integrated accessories. * Basic alignment and operational adjustments. **Bone-Temporal Milling Equipment** * Inspection of motors, handpieces, foot pedals, and pneumatic or electric systems. * Verification of speed, vibration, temperature, and safe operation. * Control of sterile accessories and consumables. **Administrative Responsibilities** * Prepare technical reports and service documentation. * Manage inventory of spare parts, instruments, and consumables. * Coordinate specialized services with authorized manufacturers or distributors. * Support procurement and technical evaluation of biomedical equipment. * Maintain updated asset and documentary control of assigned equipment. **Education** * University-Level Technician or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related health fields. * Complementary training in surgical equipment and electromedicine is desirable. **Experience** **Desirable:** * 2 years of experience in maintenance of hospital biomedical equipment. * Experience in operating rooms and surgical support. * Experience in logistical and administrative management of medical equipment within hospitals. * Knowledge of specialized equipment for otorhinolaryngology or neurosurgery. **Technical Knowledge** * Electronics applied to medical devices. * Intraoperative neuromonitoring systems. * Optics and operation of surgical microscopes. * Motorized surgical milling equipment. * Hospital regulations and
