Investigates incidents and develops prevention programs **JOB SUMMARY:** The EHS Specialist is responsible for managing environmental, health, and safety activities and providing technical guidance to improve workplace safety conditions and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Comply with all workplace conditions, hazards, as well as all applicable air, water, and waste requirements and regulations affecting the Company. * Execute environmental, health, and safety activities. * Provide environmental, health, and safety training to team members. * Investigate work-related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, assist in developing effective health countermeasures, and develop and implement accident prevention and loss control methods and programs at facilities to improve safety performance. * Ensure legislative compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. * Ensure compliance with STPS regulations. * Lead the safety team and assist in coordinating activities, recommendations, and accountability for issues identified by the team. * Conduct weekly safety walkthroughs with effective follow-up. * Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills. * Environmental responsibilities, ensuring all environmental reports are submitted accurately and timely in areas such as: * Land: oversee the emergency management system, external material storage, and landfill disposal management. * Air: oversee operation/compliance permitting, perform emission calculations for submission to state regulatory agencies, and allow implementation of production requirement changes for all emission units. Maintain updated records of all existing equipment and apply for permits for modifications to existing equipment or installation of new equipment. * Water: ensure all process water discharges to sanitary sewers comply with regulations. * Hazardous Waste: coordinate and manage the hazardous waste program. * Support internal and external audits under ISO 14001:2015 standard regarding Safety and Environment. * Conduct LPA audits. * Prepare purchase requisitions in the Safety area. * Develop and ensure compliance with SOT audits. * Handle government procedures (operating license, minimum civil protection conditions, updating special handling generator registration, etc.). * Identify, develop, and implement economically viable solutions to environmental, health, and safety issues/problems affecting company facilities. * Conduct orientation for new employees and company induction. * Develop and update risk assessments and ergonomic studies. * Ensure compliance with safety and environmental processes and interaction with other departments (HR, Safety, Engineering, Quality, Environmental, Maintenance, Finance), as well as alignment with company culture, values, philosophy, and PROMAPP tracking for system activity control. * Create and maintain a healthy, conflict-free work environment. * Provide support, as required, to other company departments. **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:** * Gender: Unspecified * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field * Marital status: Unspecified * Age: 21–35 years old * 1–2 years of experience in a similar position, including: * Knowledge of and experience applying safety standards, STPS, Civil Protection * Knowledge of and experience applying environmental standards ISO 14001:2015, SEMARNAT, SMA * Experience handling government procedures (Operating License renewal, Civil Protection, etc.) **TRAVEL:** **Travel required:** Minimal **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:** * Ability to understand environmental and safety regulations. * Strong communication skills, including high proficiency in written and oral expression. * High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with all team members. * Strong organizational and administrative skills. * Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. * Open-minded, willing to assume responsibility, results-oriented. * Experience with Microsoft Office tools. * Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions and solve problems. **BENEFITS:** **PURPOSE:** Building a Better Whole We build a better culture by placing people above profits, leading with purpose, passion, and performance, and creating an environment dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience for our customers and people.
